Why was the team changed and lauren shannon and Ben Hobbdey no longer in the team?

As the track is bigger than they thought it would be so they have put proven 3 star horses in the team instead.

Are the young riders doing the standard 2* course or a slightly beefed up version?

Its meant to be a normal 2* course. The old 2* course was upgraded for the 3*, so until last year there was only a one and three star. Therefore, this course has been specially built for the euros, but bearing in mind the calibre of the field who would be using it, they may have made it harder than normal.

There was a 2 star there last year as well. I am not sure if its the same course as the normal event or not. But I will be able to tell you on sunday. I am sure when they held the Juniors they just used the 1 star course, however that year they did not run an open 1 star.

just shows how wel prepared the brits were.... the three star course was tough enough last year particularly when you consider they gallop up a mountain so what exactly were they expecting?
