Bob will eat anything nasty he can find whilst out on a walk but is getting very fussy over his proper food.
I take away his bowl after about 30 mins to try and encourage him not to browse, he gets no snacks or treats (except when training), and he gets no titbits from my plate.
I started by feeding him Beta puppy (several different flavours) he is now on James Wellbeloved (tried various flavours) and whilst he initially enjoys it he goes off each bag quite quickly.
He has plenty of energy (and attitude!), but he isnt carrying much weight....any recommendations on what to do next?

Keep doing what you are doing but I wouldn't keep changing his food. He won't starve himself and dogs don't actually have many taste receptors so he probably doesn't take much notice of the taste anyway. Keep strong!

Thanks! I am trying and so far managed not to do anymore than occasionally make some gravy to pour over! Just cant imagine how he doesnt eat when i see the energy he spends running with the big dogs!!

My two (terriers oddly) are prone to being a little bit fussy with their JWB. If I WANT them to eat it, I add a little boiling water, makes it mushy - smelly and apparently, undeniable!!

I usually do that in the morning, to make sure they eat, their evening meal is left dry.

Echo you. My 2 terriers can be v occasionally fussy on the JWB esp if i get a big bag of the same flavour. I also soak it in hot water aand leave to go luke warm then feed it,they scoffit down then. If their lucky they sometimes get a spoonful of Bisto chicken gravy granules added into it for extra deliciousness!!! Oh well they never have treats and are in fab condition so it's their only treat bless them.

I take food away after ten minutes, they are usually hungry the next time round....

Veg oil, natural yogurt, fish oil will make it more appetising.

I don't give treats either, if they get anything it is part of training and it is human food, cheese, chicken, chorizo etc.

Am I making you hungry?

Sorry, I hate the way pet food companies repackage their stuff, put some different colouring in it and put it in a smaller bag, charge much more per weight and call it a 'treat'. Plus, if I can share it, even better :p

(Off topic alert!!!)

Quite agree CC mine get human rewards when training, cheaper and far better ingredients! Pepperami fit in the pocket really well!!!
