Young woman in Cairo meltdown

Thank you again for all your responses and Ashleigh, whilst going through all sorts of bad news at the moment is really grateful.

I am not sure if I am allowed to put on here that Hickstead have donated 3 pairs of Longines Intl Horse Show tickets for our raffle (which buys medicines for the horses) the tickets are for the Members Enclosure and include car parking.

We would love you to have a look :) Raffle is pinned to top of page

Hello again, couldnt resist showing you all Romeo the orphan :) and some fab news in that Hickstead, Olympia and Burghley have all donated really good tickets for their events so we can raise funds for medicines at the clinics Ash runs for the street horses. I will be doing a car boot sale in the coming weeks and if anyone would like to send stuff pls pm me for my address. Thank you again...

Goodness, well when I said meltdown at the start of this thread a while back, I guess we are in full liquid lava now. Really dangerous times over there for Ash but still going strong :)

I have just made £200 at an equine table top sale and would like to thank those of you on here who private messaged me and helped ♥ You are superstars.

Thank you so much xxx

O so you are the people PFK have been having 'issues' with. Funny because I didn't know that until I looked at your page. They had managed to keep to themselves who the other party was. Maybe you should have done that too. Can't say after reading such bile I really wish to donate to you...

Agree wholeheartedly.
It is such a shame that there are so many derogatory posts about PFK on your page.
You are all working to help the equines in such dire circumstances - surely supporting each other is the way forward?
I find some of the accusations made against PFK extremely distasteful. I am afraid it puts them streets ahead of you in managing to maintain a dignified silence - especially in view of the malicious tripe that you and people on your page have been spouting.

Haven't read all these posts to be honest but can see there's some arguement going on. From my point of view, having seen the 'street' horses first hand in Cairo and Luxor, it really is horrifying. So many damn tourists (Europeans and Americans mainly!) who should know better going in their carriages, just sickening. Any charity who can try and help these horses deserves great respect. I dont really care if charities are arguing (over what Im unsure?) as long as they're out to try and do best for these horses. Good luck Lochinvar / Ash.

I totally agree. The welfare of the animals is of paramount importance.
But....so much of their page is about discrediting another charity that it appears to overshadow that.
They are so wrapped up in the fact that PFK have 30,000 more supporters than them & implying that TEHP is a more worthy charity - it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Any charity working to help these poor animals is worthy - hence why they should quit the bad mouthing.

Hi again, thanks for your comments I am unsure about the arguments raging, there was a dispute weeks ago now and certainly 30,000 likes has never been mentioned. I was the founder of PFK and wherever there are horses to be helped should commended. I suspect the above bad mouthing of Ash and TEHP is from PFK supporters and as such good for you supporting them, as I said the more that is done to help horses and other animals in Cairo the better.

What a shame, given how dangerous the situation is out there at the moment, that you are still unable to find a kind word from someone working their socks off for animals.

Thanks for your input though its always good to see peoples reactions to welfare, especially from people who actually have horses themselves.

Have a wonderful evening and I hope you have a super day with your horses tomorrow xxxx

Much love to you from us all at TEHP ♥ ♥ ♥

I'm not a supporter of anyone, I just wondered if perhaps things like that ought to be taken down as it detracts from the great work you guys are (indisputably) doing!

I read a really pissy thing on the RSPCA web page about one of the hunts a few months back and it really switched me off them too. I just don't think that sort of thing is good for 'business' and it would probably be better to just remove that sort of comment and focus soley on all the amazing things you are doing :)

I hope everyone in Egypt stays safe, scary times over there :(

I have no ideas if there are arguing factions. I hope not - after all this is about the horses.

Good luck to all of you out there, and please be safe.

I actually agree with you and Ash knows that she should try and ignore the crap that is thrown at her, she is a young woman on her own with a real passion for helping horses but does understand that any meltdown she has at the way things pan out needs to stay off the page. I try and understand how her days go and how depressing and exhausting they must be and to then need to put on a smiley 'all is well face' when inside you dont feel like that. I came on board as UK admin to fund raise, PR etc and try and take a bit of the pressure off Ash so she could look at things with a clearer mind and see the vision for TEHP and what needs to happen to achieve this. You will not find such a argument again as we have made sure that Ash has a bit more support these days. I am also disappointed at the private messages I have received from other charities but people feel very passionately about their chosen charity so try not to take it to heart, some of it is pure abuse but thats easier to ignore than people genuinely believing you are bad people, who dont care about animals etc.

Each to their own I guess, for me its only ever been about the horses and animals over there. Sad and scary times, always hope people will wish each other well though :)

Just to be clear, I support animal welfare generally. Whether that is TEHP, PFK, Crosskennan, WHW, Redwings, Blue Cross.....etc etc
I have not seen any bad mouthing of Ash & TEHP on the PFK page? Only some unpleasant comments on your page regarding PFK.
What is on your page can, and will detract from the work that Ash does and will not help you gain support. I wish nothing but success and brilliant things for Ash - there is no doubt she is doing a great job in a very dangerous setting.

Just trying to make it clear that derogatory remarks about another fellow Egyptian chairty all over the TEHP page may well stop people donating (it certainly did with me).

Thanks for the love :) xx

I acknowledge your comments and you are most welcome to the love ♥ They dont mention Ash by name but refer to her as the local Diva. Anyway, thankfully we have got past the spat between the groups and TEHP is well on its way to being a registered UK charity. So I hope people can be charitable enough to wish Ash well and I think Ash's body of work and the lengths she goes to speak highly enough for people to continue to support her, but totally accept your decision to not support her anymore, hopefully TEHP's monetary loss was PFK's gain :)

As I said, each to their own and as long asa the horses are the winners thats all that matters.

Kind regards as always xxx ♥ ♥ ♥

I don't know anything about the politics of these charities but I hope they all stay safe and total respect for doing the work they do under such challenging and now dangerous conditions.

Thank you everyone for your kind words that I will pass on to Ash and her Mum (who is living in perpetual terror for her daughter). Incidentally, my name is Wendy McComb, I always worry when speaking on behalf of TEHP that people might think I am hiding behind my chosen user name. Lochinvar was my first pony (in NZ) and my greatest friend as a young girl and teenager ♥ I still miss him xxx
