As you know i am in the process of backing my youngster, day2 was today - yesterday was a no go (weather) so we did a bit more today, basically bit of groundwork, standing quietly at the mounting block whilst i fiddles round with everything to get her used to standing still, hopped on and did some walking/halting and changes of rein for about 5 mins, she was very good, and the time we get *stuck* seemed alot less then day one of going solo. :) all good
One question
When i talk to her and scratch her etc (whilst am doing things like tacking up - i always chat away quietly to her) i have noticed that she twitches her top lip alot, shes very relaxed at these stages and puts her head right down to my waist when i stroke her forelock - anyone know why she does the lip twitch? i have never seen my other horses so this as much as she does it...........
