Hi all,
Wonder if you could help. I'm currently backing and training my 3 year old. On the lunge he will mostly (but not all of the time) start off in canter on the incorrect lead and then disunite afterwards. Sometimes he will start on the correct then change his front lead to again disunite. I have managed to get a proper canter out of him yesterday on both legs but it was hard work. He canters properly on the field.
Do you think I am expecting too much for a normal canter and this is normal for a 3 year old or not?
He has only just started canter work on the lunge btw.
Any help is appreciated.
