I have just walked away from a lovely unbroken five year old who had a marked plaiting gait. She stood square her hoof balance was fine but... She most definitely plaited her front legs.
Anyone got any experience of this improving or getting worse? Any experiences really? As a Spanish horse expected to the opposite maybe a bit of dishing.

Conformational changes could only be effected during the first year of life, when casts/splints/remedial shoeing etc can influence the growth of the leg bones

How wide is she; does she need a lot of condition, strengthening up? Sometimes if the chest is too narrow it has a knock on effect so something that is young or very poor is likely to improve as it strengthens up but if no reason like that I'd walk away.

Spanish horses can often move a little, um.....alarmingly, if you are used to the more boring/conventional breeds. Most British people want them to move straight (and low), so I think there have been efforts to breed some of the more flamboyant leg flinging out. I quite like the eccentric style, so tend to go for that, but wouldn't ever want anything that actually knocked into itself. Have never had a Spanish horse do that, though.
