I would love to see photos of your at home set up's: stables, turn out, storage, etc, if anyone has any to share? They don't need to be jaw dropping, in fact better if they are a bit more realistic! :)

Their section of barn always open to them. They live on a track system now. Rams use the center.

Can't do a photo because I'm useless but can describe!!
Have commendeered one end of a Dutch barn on the farm - have 2 separate temporary stables (a 12x12 and a 16x12) on the end looking inwards into the barn. The barn has tin sides on the back and top end but is open at the front.
There are two large pens straight out from the stables, gated off to the outside and in front of the stables & down the middle making up the first bay. The horses can choose to be in the stable or the pens... It's great for socialising!
The next bay has a gate to the outside and I use the front as a grooming area. There's also a small space for hay/feed storage and at the back there's a pony pen for my companion pony.
I have an acre paddock fenced off outside the barn, a 3 acre paddock that I use as winter turnout out of sight of the stables and a 3 acre summer paddock that has a huge hawthorn hedge all round it which is great for shelter.
Sadly I don't have an arena...

Hes not at home, hes on a yard, but he is managed on a very small acreage which I know your interested in :) So heres my set up:

The bit you can see is half of his space and where he spends every night from 6pm ish till 6am. The slip rails you can just see lead on to a similar sized but longer and thinner bit with slightly more grass. The thing to the left of the photo is a stable/shelter thats always open. He goes in there to nap every afternoon and to wee  And yes, he is very fat sadly, but hes on a diet and the weight is slowly coming off now hes managed appropriately :)

Alf and Daisy live here - Smallish pen, one of the schools and a paddock, which has slip rails into my garden (Thats my house in the back ground)

This is us - Staffordshire/Derbyshire border. I have two mares and some lodging sheep on 8 acres. Just put a new yard in (a lot of finishing to do). It's perfect for us - makes life so much easier. House is in the background. Sorry - photo overload!

Sometimes we do very close to home! The gravel drive is very useful for conditioning unshod feet, and they tidy up the bits the lawnmower can't be bothered with! Theere is a no galloping rule, which they mostly observe

I have an acre paddock at home. I run a track round the perimeter. It has a small yard with a field shelter on that is part of the track.

A great set up for fatties! Just one question - did you have to get planning permission or did you sneak the yard etc. in? It's what I am hoping to do.

The barn was already there...we just clad it in dung board and extended the concrete to make a small yard.

No good at loading pictures, but I live on top of a hill at 1000ft, so early on we learnt that all wooden structures have to be well anchored.

2 stables went in first and best decision I made was to site them in the paddock, so when ponies escaped from children they were contained. Over the years the we have added feed room hay store block on side of prevailing wind and hedged/trees on remaicing two sides so we have ended up with a really sheltered yard where ponies can choose to stay or use stables, and it has worked really well.

Looks super, you must be quite near me. Life is so much easier when you have them at home and good boxes etc.

She lives out here 24/7 on adlib hay. She has a large house but I'm using it as a lambing shed just now so she is shut out. Much to her disgust!

This is me .. moved in 9 days ago so not done anything to it yet. House first and all that!

3 stables and a tack room with approx. three acres set over three post and rail paddocks :D I'm a very happy boy :)

We hung on in here for many years with just two pony sized stables, a small feed shed and a hay barn on our 7 acres. Have had the luxury of upgrading the facilities over the last 10 years. Now have an L shaped 4 stable block with feed and rug rooms, two field shelters, a 40m x 20m arena and the original hay barn. The old fencing has been replaced, too.

The field shelters are a godsend. No more worrying about sudden changes in the weather when we're away from home, 'cause the neds can always get under cover (which they do very happily).

Will be doing the last finishing touches to the equestrian facilities later this year. Then, it'll be time to think about updating the house (rather overdue ;) ).

I'm in Stanton outside Ashbourne. Where are you? I'm working up to hacking mine out and getting out and about so tips as to where to go would be great.
