Mine was a recent purchase which I just dug out to use today and was thrilled with all over again ;)
A Rambo Supreme turn out in absolutely mint condition (better than my year old rambos which are fine but the high viz bits are all cracked up) looks new, little bit of mud but other than that as new, with neck cover.
£38 plus postage....

What's yours? Can anyone better that?

I got a pretty much new Thermatex (genuine, not a cheap copy) for about £30 at a tack sale - its the most useful rug I own!

Ah yes that's a good one too. I got a Thermatex years ago cheap as a second but couldn't see anything wrong with it and it was still £70! They are brilliant

Job lots. 90% crud more often than not and you have to study what is there carefully against the postage. But I have had dually headcollars, NS bits, Mylars, long lines. All sorts. One item is often worth the price of the whole lot (which I just parcel up for the next tack sale to cover costs) Also look out for listings with spelling errors so they won't come up on a standard search.

But I have to say it is getting rarer.

A new thermatex with tags for £70 assume it was meant to be a seconds as was just after one of their factory sales but couldn't find any faults

...and an Albion for £300 that I later got nearly £600 for when it stopped being of use - seller wouldn't post and I was the only one that bid!

I got a Weatherbeta heavyweight combo at a carboot for £40. It was muddy but I couldn't see any rips. When I got it cleaned it looked barely used. But it was so mild last winter my horse hasn't worn it yet!

Years ago got a brand new Dever gp saddle for £200, still had the labels on it, great saddle and fit my pony perfectly. Traded it in a few years later when buying a new ideal saddle and got £300 for it.

Just after I bought E, I called a second hand tack shop near Chatsworth (I'd seen them at the HT and picked up a flyer) they had a 62" humane girth for £10 and a pair of bent leg stirrups with leathers for £12.

A filthy old south african polocrosse saddle that had sat in someone's garage for years. I think I paid about £30 for it. Cleaned it up, it was a beauty, used for several years and resold for £300 to someone in Ireland. :-)

This! Cost me a couple of hundred quid. I could have had it adjusted to fit my pony but it didnt really suit me or what I wanted to do . I sold it for two and a half times what I paid for it and the proceeds funded a 4 wheel marathon carriage that I wouldnt have been able to justify otherwise :biggrin3:

My friend fished a torn fleece that was out of a bin thrown away by her next door stable person and sewed it up. She was then too embarrassed to use it in case they recognised it so gave it to me. I've had it for many years and it's still in decent nick and well used.

I bought a Thermatex for my youngster at the time about 8 years ago, it wasn't on sale or anything and wasn't that cheap, but it is a *magic* rug. I bought it a size smaller than I needed at the time, so its labelled a 5'3 and it has fitted every horse since . . . my current horse is a 6'6 and wears it no problem, the back seam reaches to her tail point so her bum just pokes out the back a bit, but not glaringly 'too small'!

My best buy was a heavy weight Rambo Supreme from a tack sale for £35, it was dirty and had no neck cover but had it cleaned and it was in mint condition, got a neck cover from PE for £12 (in the sale) and its been perfect!

I always look forward to winter when i can get it out again! :D

A practically brand new £65 Musto jacket in my local charity shop for a fiver.

A brand new, still tagged £120 Lucinda Green show jacket for £35 from ebay.

A gorgeous, as new Heritage comfort bridle from ebay for £14

Polypad travel leg wraps from ebay for 99p

A beautiful as new WH saddle, bespoke-made by master saddler Clive Wheareat as a local tack sale for £300 (later sold when my mare outgrew it for £395!)

I love bargains!!

Got an a horseware mio rug for £15, brand new, (RRP is £39.00 I think?) and a wintec 500 wide gp for £211, £250 including postage. (think new it's £550 or £575, not sure which?!)

An immaculate Bernard Weatherill navy hunt coat for £10 at a hunt fund raiser which fits me absolutely perfectly. It was on a rail of tatty old hacking jackets and in the kids section. AMAZING!!!

I managed to get hold of a nearly new medium weight turnout rug, dublin show shirt, and white show breeches with half leather seat - £30 for the lot! Facebook is a wonderful thing!

Bernard Weatherill navy heavyweight wool show jacket £70
Fitted me like a glove when I was thin.....fat bloater now but I can’t bear to sell it in case I ever lose weight

A Barnsby Xtreem monoflap saddle on ebay, brand new with tags, retail for £2500, paid £500.
A girth retailing at over £100, in a second hand shop for £2.
My favourite a Bronte thick padded moleskin coat in a charity shop to wear to a firework display for a fiver, its now my ho to winter everyday coat, have been asked so many times where I got it from from admirers:)

Definitely my dressage saddle, which was free! It's a lovely Bates Isabell Werth, full leather and fits H beautifully.

I got it from a lovely lady I was dressage writing for, who had given up riding, and when I mentioned that I was saving up for a dressage saddle, said "oh, I have an old one in my garage you can have if you want. You can have it for free if you come and pick it up, and you can have all my other horse stuff too, it's just clogging up my garage and collecting dust". Sounded too good to be true, especially since she only lived 15mins away from my house.

Went over the next day, not expecting an awful lot from it, to be given this (and lots of other useful horsey bits and pieces, clippers, rugs, bits, bridles...):

Wow!

I've got a couple.
The most beautiful brown bridle that was immaculate and my mare loves I got for free of a kind hhoer.
An amazing girth that retails at quite a high price free from an old riding school.
A rather nice fluffy red and white headcollar at a tack room clear out for about a fiver.
