1. Proudly showing everyone how lovely my horse's trot was in hand in a field that had recently been sprayed with human effulent. Slipping and falling and then getting dragged face first past everyone through the effulent, bits of tissue, bits of other hideous items etc. I remember very clearly that moment of silence before everybody wet themselves.

Oh gawwwd... first ever competition, a prelim dressage competition for London riding clubs. No one had a horse, so we all had riding school horses drawn out of a hat. I got this mare... I was really nervous about riding with an audience and all, and didn't get on with the mare too well either, and basically lost all braking, we did the whole damn test in canter more or less, including the walk up the centre line
, managed to stop to salute but she then proceeded to bomb around the area on the way out, almost taking a steward out in the process
Amazingly, I did not actually come last! Just almost last
As requested, how to get 3 errors of the course between A & X
Error 1. Enter at wildish trot, spook at patch of sunshine then stop dead, rear and proceed to walk off on hind legs, direction chosen at random.
Error 2. Put front legs back down, gather wits momentarily then rear again and walk off in opposite direction until you encounter side of school.
Error 3. Scrape rider down kickboards, spook at the noise and rush to centre of school to do extra special rear with hooves above head.
Listen for elimination bell
In his defence it was his first test and first time indoors. He did manage to do a respectable second test after I had taken him for a hack and had a little word with him!
Sooooo many!
Horse bucked me off at a large show. I landed the other side of the practice ring fence and had to walk round on the wrong side of the fence to the entrance.
Used to ride a selection of g*ts and one spooked at the mini windmill in someones garden, but I got him past. Then he wouldn't go past the butchers awning gave up and tried to go back but wouldn't pass the windmill. By this point I had built up quite a traffic jam! Then one of my teachers ( I was about 13) came and lead me passed.
