Your cobs...how much bone?

Kinzzy has 10.5 inch bone and Tedbert, who is rising 3 like yours, has about 10 inch. I've not measured him lately. You have one big cob!

My horse's Cannon Bone, not my husbands................:D
I am so used to looking at Fred's I didn't think he was massive until my friend was amazed..... whats he going to be a bloomin clydesdale when he grows up??

Circumference below the knee. :)

Baby cob had about 8.5" last year at rising two, going to do him again soon. Reckon an inch of that is feather though!

Gelding has 8.5" he's only little.
Mare has 10"
and the BBB (not technically a cob but a part bred draught so still counts :p) 9.5"

We measured with a piece of baler twine around the leg tight ( he doesn't have much feather) we measured it as another hhoer Katherine1975 said wow hes big! measured the twine on the tape measure and came in as 13 inches, we couldn't beleive it so did him again and measured again and was 13 inches again!
Seems too big, hence why I was checking it was in the right place. My 14 hh cob who looks similiar was 11 inches more or less x

Devonshire Dumpling - you are doing it right. I measured my coblets legs when he had been clipped, and to be fair his legs are a bit on the slim side for a cob. They would measure a lot more now as he has loads of feather on them. Looks like a pit pony now, not the smart, veteran show cob he is underneath. Still love him though.

DD Are you measuring far enough down on the cannon bone? That really does seem a lot, it's more than a heavy horse usually has.

My Suffolk x had about 12". Finding boots for him was a nightmare, xxlarge sports medicine types were all I could get to fit. He only had them behind.

My lanky tb has 9.5", so wouldn't be surprised if your chunky lad does have 13".

It's when they're bigger around than they are long..

I might take a photo of his legs tomorrow next to our dainty Tb lol for comparison....... he is chunky but I wouldn't say HUGE, but then I get accused of calling him my little baby, he's not 3 until end of May, whats he going to be like when hes bloomin 7! X
