Your current horsey wishlist / purchase list / reviews

What a great thread, has fairly made me feel less guilty about what I have spent recently.
In the past month

1 brand new WOW saddle, including girth and leathers
1 pair of acavallo arena safety stirrups
I Sportz- Vibe massage rug.
1 polar fleece cooler rug 2nd hand (so maybe that doesn't count) lol

on the wish list

Quality coloured horse for ridden showing over 15.2hh, they don't seem to exist! cannot find one anywhere.

I went one better and bought a pony! :biggrin3: I am desperate to buy her things but having dragged all my horsey stuff out and gone through it I have so much stuff I really dont need anything!

She will need a very expensive shaped girth for her harness and I'm toying with the idea of an empathy collar. But actually as my OH bought me the pony I should just be grateful and pay him back this month.

New horse arrived and despite plan being to turn her away over winter she will actually need a full winter wardrobe 🙈 so that is on the list.

Then when she comes into work she will need a full wardrobe wardrobe which will be lots of fun! Already looking at saddles 😂

Recently bought:
A posh grown up bridle for Arty mare, because I can't keep riding her in a combination of headcollar and decrepit old bridle bits forever. I've also ordered her a fancy browband - will post a pic when it all arrives (if I remember).
New yard boots for me an OH.

In the market for:
A couple more half sheepskin lined pads for Arts, and another set of brushing boots for her too. Oh and a light weight rug as she shredded the last one :rolleyes3:
A saddle for Pebbles.

Wish list:
Someone to put a new roof on my barn. All the stuff is there ready but I hate roofing and just can't bring myself to do it.
A winter that isn't too soggy

Having decided I quite like schooling the mare I bought a year or so ago, I “invested” in a Black Country dressage saddle and a fairfax grackle. In my defence I never did get on with the drop bridle she came in. I’m now banned from having a wish list . . .

A pony to fit all the currently unused stuff? :p

(one of my bessie mates keeps tempting me with her two welshies that she can't keep, but Mum keeps saying no (I'm 35 :p) I think it's safer not to visit somerset ;) )

This is thread is great cos I feel less guilty, but AWFUL cos you're giving me all sorts of ideas for things I might 'need'! (sorry about the new knee - that sounds v painful)

I am waiting for a Le Mieux nose net, a pair of dry legs and a waterproof ride-on. All very prosaic. The fleece-lined Decathlon jods look fab too and some of mine are starting to look a bit iffy in important areas.

I'm actively looking for a grey or burgundy (or both) fleece extra-full headcollar for him and a nicely fitted black jacket and some leather boots for me - they have to cope with ample bosom and calves respectively.

On my wishlist:
Lister Liberty battery clippers with the trimmers (dribble)
An entry-level dressage saddle (my saddler has an Albion that fits him, I just don't have the £££)
A wicking cooler rug for winter exercise speedy sweat removal, in a colour that matches a set of travel boots I have my eye on
And as a total dream - cos I cannot afford it - a 3.5t lorry with a decent payload so we can go places whenever I fancy.

Henry James stirrup leathers are the best and are not expensive at all :). They never stretch, mine are nearly 3 years old and still look brand new after a clean!

Thanks for the tip from me too - mine are a mismatched pair and in ropey condition...I need a new set. I like the look of the plated tops.

I bought 2 Avignon shires bridles and martingales to match in oak brown as they were all half price from hope valley, I am really quite impressed with them they are a really good quality and look smart on my pretty arabs, I struggle to get a finer leather type everyday bridle as most are chunky thick leather unless you want to spend a fortune which I don't want to for everyday stuff don't mind for showing stuff.

Got a leather girth on order from Heritage saddlery as needed non elastic and seem to be hard to get these days.

wish list

could do with some new everyday riding boots mine are looking a bit tired

an indoor school for winter would be nice!

I'm a massive fan of theirs and, as Ester says, their customer service is vv good :). I find their calf wrapped leathers are better quality than the expensive French and Italian brands.

does kira need a blingy browband in team colours?
Yes, sorry :D.

I'm currently looking at Haas brushes again due to recommendations on this thread...maybe starting it wasn't a great idea :p.

Ester - move to Swansea :(. M needs someone to ride her regularly!

that's even further away than Frank is! are there more hills than Cambridgeshire?

It's the land of hills ;). Topographic map showing the rough area M is in: http://en-gb.topographic-map.com/places/Clyne-Common-6095162/
And my 2 favourite hacks:

The bottom one has a 1.5 mile gradual uphill on grass which is perfect for cantering up :).

Edit: To give the map some context...in an hour and a half I can go from the yard, down to the beach, and all the way to the highest point of Clyne Common (423ft).
And if you want a research post the uni is always hiring .

Wishlist: I Need to get Gray, Jeff & The Wee Coloured Job rugs for winter. They seem to get a new wardrobe every year just because!

Purchase List: Not waiting for anything just now.

Reviews: Everyone should get a Shetland Pony as they are the most awesome creatures on the planet!

I'm going to need a new winter coat, any suggestions for a nice cheap one would be great currently have a loveson blouson one which fits fine both with and without my body protector

My country boots and jodhpurs are getting pretty battered but trying to draw out spending more money!

Horse will be getting a visit from the dentist and I think a tetanus jab need to check when he's due. Typically he needs sedating for the dentist just to add money! Maybe vodka would be equally effective? (Joke!!!)

Wish list:

A house for me.

For the house to preferably have land and stabling

A new bridle for horse. I like synthetic bridle but they don't seem to do the webbing ones now

More schockemohle saddle pads. They have a delicious grey one but as their pads are over 50 quid each I can't justify it as saving to move out

The turquoise woof wear boots

To go on another beach ride (horse won't travel so can't take him)

I have entered tonight's euromillions in wishful thinking!!

I have a Griffin nuumed endurance pad in the post to me, had to be done as they've brought out some lovely new colours! My wish list is a nice pair of comfortable wellies for winter, waterproof trousers that aren't too long, I'm only short, and a new set of endurance tack for my boy with some new Picasso boots thrown in for good measure!

I recently bought a virtually un-used saddle for my mare, I bought a cover the same as the other saddles (otherwise known as a cloaking device) which took my tally of saddles with matching saddle covers to seven and my wifely officially disclosed total of saddles to three.

I then had saddle checked and rechecked which resulted in flocking (which is a bit like the water tank in the loft, you can't see where your money went but you know you needed it)

Then after a drunken nostalgic trip down memory lane with a buddy I heavily invested in brand new Clarendon boots fulfilling a childhood dream a mere thirty years down the line

So taking my skint-ness in to account I duly took jockey, jockeys mother and my pony to Equifest for the week where on the first day I bought an anatomical girth from Fylde for £85 to go with my new saddle and promptly lived on beans for the rest of the week

Would highly recommend the Clarendon boots and Fylde anatomical girth

The Clarendon boots for my soul

The girth because it's made an incredible difference to the ponys canter work

I'm being weird at the moment and buying more harness for my clydeadle for next season because he already has a full set but I want some fancier bits. I've requested a chrome nameplate to hang off his collar for my birthday, and will be splashing out on a new martingale and a rein box, neither of which we need but they're so pretty and shiny. Plus I really really want a custom made set of flights to match his decorations - thinking red and black for the neck row and uprights and then metallic silver hearts for the tops although my red and tartan ones are perfectly fine and much more traditional.

We don't need any of this!

I'm also after a new tweed jacket and have my eyes on a rather fetching Caldene at the moment.

I need to sell about 50 saddle pads and girths mainly from horses who are now across the Rainbow Bridge.

:D. At one point I had 5 saddles in the spare room, only 1 fit and OH only knew about that one :o. I was rumbled when we moved house so had to sell them. They were all far too narrow so would never have fitted my horse so I have no idea why I'd kept them!

Since making this thread I have bought a brand new Horze breastplate (£15 BNWT eBay bargain). Horse does not need a breastplate but it should give me something to grab when I'm falling off...
I've also just had some surprise holiday pay and am eyeing up the Haygain Forager and a set of Haas brushes. Or that Samshield <heart eyes>.

CCL re. winter coats depending on your morals it can be worth checking sports direct as they get puffa and schokomole (sp!) end of line stuff in. I have a fab lightweight one of the latter from them.
I'm yet to christen the lovely musto I bought a few years ago half price in MVF, just in case :eek3:

DF I have two saddles, I am going to attempt to buy a 5'9 17" MW ideal horse ;)

2 x tack have the lemieux cooler rigs in three different shades for under £40. They're gorgeous, I treated my girly to a plum one last year and it was phenomenal at drying her off unclipped coat off in under 30 mins while looking lovely too :D

Goddamn it, I've just had to spend £40 on a Thermocool rug because of this post <face palm>.
Thank you for the heads up, I've fancied one for ages but wasn't going to spend £70 on one! :p
