Hey guys
Thought it would be nice to make a post for us all to share the ambitions we want to achieve the most, the ones you spend ages in the office thinking about wanting to achieve more than anything. Be it cantering down a beach or competing at badders / HOYS or even the olympics.

I'll let you guys start then I'll join in :D

Very predictable, but I still really want to ride at 4*. I know it'd take a stupendously talented, trainable, tolerant and tough horse to get me there, but the dream hasn't died in spite of a decade or two of horsey disappointments. Just got to keep plugging on and keep hoping to find a superspecial horse again.
Oh, i'd quite like my knee never to disassemble itself again please, if i'm allowed a second minor wish. ;)

well id like to actually buy another horse when i graduate uni in 2012 :)

currently horseless :( (have owned before though ) but sucks just watching people compete and not being able to get out there myself :(

Just reading the title made me realise that I actually achieved mine last weekend. Took the home bred, and home backed and schooled H bomb to his first ODE and completed:) OK it was only 70 cms, but never thought we would achieve it:) Will now have to dream of BE at some point:)

Really want to do a foxhunter one day, compete in the Grade C qualifier at Bramham horse trials, every year i go and watch and am annoyed I haven't pulled my finger out and done more work to get there :(

And if that went well, go to HOYS ;)

I'd also one day like to be able to a good dressage test on my horse - and maybe some fancy moves too - is that too many?! :)

Kerilli: I think we can allow wishes for a non disassembeling knee :p

Alwaysbroke: how brill!, well done to you :D onwards and upwards to dreams
of BE now :D

Personally I dream of riding at HOYS & Olympia (Greedy I know :p)
I REALLY am hoping Lordie will help me achieve this and I also hope (well dream) I can get Ban to HOYS before he retires as I think he deserves to canter around a big venue under the champions spotlight as he is a champion to me!!!(soppy much :p I do love him though )

My dream would be to own a livery yard in the Cotswolds and have a few eventers but that would also involve winning the lottery or marrying a rich man!

I lIterally just told my mum I still want to get to Badminton one day. Seems slightly unlikely right now, but we can all dream, right? It would really just be nice to be able to mess around with horses all day every day.

Ooh good thread. For J I'd like to keep toddling round doing RC teams and the odd intro for as many years as possible, ideally another 10 at least (he's 14 now)!! Oh and get him out at elementary dressage next winter and do a few years being competitive at unaffil novice and ele. When I first had him tho my ultimate aim was to get round a ODE with him and he has now done a few Intros and has achieved that for me. I'm realistic enough to know he's not scopey enough to go PN/any bigger than BN really SJing so readjusted his aims for dressage really!
I'm rapidly coming to believe that if I am ever going to achieve a proper dream Roo is going to be the horse that does it for me so if I manage to improve my riding and keep a proper horse sound, an absolute dream and ambition would be to get him to the BE grassroots champs, don't care whether at Intro or PN, and do some proper BSJA as well, as finally accidentally ended up with a 'proper' horse in this one, and would be absolutely amazing to get the first horse we have backed ourselves to that kind of level! He's certainly got the scope now I just need to harness it! Maybe even if he gives me the confidence we might one day try a novice BE.... but thats about 10 years off if ever!

I'd quite like to run a very nice livery yard, of the sort that has plenty of grazing, all the right facilities, good staff, and a word-of-mouth waiting list due to excellent reputation. Must have hacking for miles across glorious contryside, so I can just pop out for an hour or two whenever I want.
However to do that I'd need to win the lottery - so can you allow that?

my realistic dream is to compete at county level on my ex racer and not fall off/cry/horse dump the judge etc etc - Kent County is my first one so will let you know if I achieve that . My unrealistic dream is to get to Hickstead for the finals of the Ror class so unless no one else enters at Kent this may become more achievable :) :)

For my 3 year old ex racer I would love for him to be someones life time horse as he is sooooo lovely and possibly be the start of re training some more ex racers for me .

My dream would be to be able to make a decent living from horses, which would hopefully go hand in hand with completing a 4*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd love to qualify my boy for one of the summer championships in an open ridden class or open worker (seems a long way off at the moment!) and also ride him at the Great Yorkshire or Lincoln Show and hold our own (i.e. not look like numptys!).

The secret (and OTT) ambition (and many years into the future) is HOYS or Olympia but that may involve a different pony, jockey and a lot more money and talent!!

Have a lovely little cottage that looks out onto my own paddocks and stables where i could keep a couple of horses on my own land.....*sigh*

To own my own horse.

I've been dreaming the same dream for a quarter of a century now.............

I actually too the decision to go for it last year but can't find "the horse" the phrase so near yet so far is summing it up at the moment.

After that, to have a house with room for horses at home, and/or to do an affiliated event.

I'd love to have a horse that I can do grand prix dressage on :p Ok, even advanced would be brilliant... anything over novice even! xD I just seem to have issues finding horses who actually LIKE flatwork at all.... and my riding probably doesn't help :o

Current ambition is to produce a horse to be competitive at Intermediate eventing.

I have no plans for Badminton etc, I just like producing baby horses and would be chuffed with a competitiive Intermediate horse.

To compete in the Hickstead Derby. Its a dream I've had ever since watching it for the first time back in 69. Odds of it happening now are about 1,000,000 : 1 but we can still dream ;)

My dream with my current horse is to do a novice dressage test, only just done my first walk and trot test with her so this goal is a proper goal but still acheivable. My long term goal is to do affiliated dressage and get to medium level.

I want to be able to jump a course that's not midget-sized in canter without panicking.

I want to get a job with the Crown Office when I finish at uni :)

okay so my dream will never happen but it is to find Mr Smartie - a JA 148cm pony that i fell in love with, i exersised him for 2years and he pushed me to 1m20 tracks :D ... and here is my goal again not realistic!! to compete at top level SJ :) i want to be able to make it to the top along with the big names !! haha fat chance ! but i can try, i just need funding!!

To have the confidence to push my Standardbred mare into canter whilst not pooping myself at her extremely fast trot (which she prefers to do).

I am at the stage where i now want to do it, so we are getting there (slowly).

Well my dream is to compete my Mare BD!

We've come a long way, but considering I cannot even get her in the school somedays I think we have a huuugggee way to go!! Never mind though, it's all the fun in the world trying.
