Your Horse Live 2012

I'm not going this year, have been about 4 years and each year it seems to get worse. I didn't see quite a lot of the demos due to the shambolic queuing situation and when I did get in often couldn't hear/see properly due to ignorant people talking/eating/bringing small uninterested kids/leaving part way through.

i have been in two minds about going... like some of you I have found the shopping was better in previous years, but I do enjoy the demos - its great to see so many riders/trainers/horse breeds all in one place. Hmmm actually I think I am talking myself into it :D

I'm mainly going for the demos. If I find anything nice in the shopping area that I actually want, I'd get something... if not, then no. I have to say I got so much better with shopping over the years - to the point that I almost hate physically shopping. I order almost everything online. You don't want to see the boxes we have to recycle each week. :)

Love YHL, we'll be there with the trade stand :) I do most of my horsey friends christmas shopping there. Shop early is my tip. A lot of people look round first thing and then think they'll buy later, but then its so busy.

There always bargains to be had. The stand prices went up a lot with YH running it, and they are less choosy about who can have a stand there, but the stand prices are still good enough that we can all afford to discount a bit.

It was a right shambles last year. Demos were full, shopping was same old with very few bargins compared to.other years. There were loads of complaints. I certainly won't be going this year!

This.

Have been every year for years but last year was poor. We got there in time for the morning demo's and couldn't get in as it was so crowded. We ended up in some ' fringe' demo that really wasn't very good.

I think they've got greedy and are selling too many tickets for the space available.

I'm not that much of a fan. Its really pot luck whether you can or can't get into each demo, which is disappointing when you've paid £16 or whatever it is to be there. I didnt know about gold tickets though, so may have a nosey as that seems to be the answer?

I've only been once in its early years so had assumed that would get better as they learnt from their mistakes each year but according to this thread they haven't.

I've also just read on their facebook page that you won't be allowed to stay in your seat between demos, so you'll queue for an hour or so to see one, then have to get up and and go and rejoin the back of the queue again, which means you probably went get back in for the next demo.

I was planning to sit and watch the demos in the morning and shop in the afternoon, but that's put paid to that idea.

They really should think about doing a shopping only ticket.

And you'll probably be late getting in for everything. Last year the queues were so long that they couldn't fill the seats in the time between demos, and of course because it is free choice seating people don't budge up so loads of seats are either wasted or people end up having to squeeze past.

I will be there as a groom in the Mia Korenika demo's :) so I am quite excited!!
If anyone spots me wave .. I'll be holding a dinosaur sized bay gelding by the name of Archie :D

i'm going, but am taking own food - last year queues were immense, too few food outlets and v pricey. No where to sit and eat. Otherwise great event - bargains to be had if you look carefully - beware of imitations. (Got caught out on Converse trainers - should have know price was too good!) Demos fab and yes, great to have so many different demos in one place.
