I am going to your horse live on the saturday. I just wondered, is it a thing where you will want to stay for the whole day? I have never been before and live 3hrs away. To get there for 9am I am going to have to leave at 6am, then spend the whole day there and then drive 3hrs back, I dont really fancy doing that if I am spending the whole day there and I think I may be too tired to drive back.

I am wondering if is worth getting there for 9am or will I get bored after a few hours?

If it is an all day think I think I may look into going down on the friday and staying over somewhere. If anyone lives nearby and can reccomend somewhere that would be good

The last two years we arrived about 10ish iirc and ended up leaving about 5 - it depends how much shopping you are prepared to do and what time the demos are on! We're going on the Saturday too this year and I imagine we'll be spending pretty much the entire day there.

make sure you check out the British Breeds section - you can meet the horses!

Yes! Well if you like shopping..we went last year and barely had time to sit and watch the demos as there are soooo many trade stands.

Even if shopping isn't your thing, there is something going on in both arenas all days, so lots to watch.

I will be doing lots of shopping believe me!! I have been saving up for ages.

I just dont want to get there late and not have enough time, nor do I want to get up at 5am to find I should have had a lie in and just gone for the afternoon.

So it looks like it might be best for me to stay somewhere the night before as I guess I will be pretty tired by the end of the day.

They used to do rooms at Stoneleigh which I've used to stay in at shows. Rather spartan but clean and warm and only £10 or something like that for the night with a decent pub down the road. Contact RASE for details or next best bet is Travelodge.

Yes it is something you'd want to stop all day and will take you most of that to get round the trade stands!

We've been last three years in a row - normally find plenty to fill up 9am - 5pm with demos, shopping, eating and fag breaks (ooops).

This year we're staying at the Old Mill Inn, Baginton which is a few miles away - google them, they might have some more availability, reasonably priced and very close. You could probably lie in till at least 8.30am

Take advantage of shop and drop so that your fingers don't go blue carrying all the bags around. And wear something suitable to walk across from the car park first of all - it invariably rains and we end up walking in with soggy shoes!!

Definitely all day thing. The demos are usually very good and lots of shopping too.
We will be there with Westgate Labs again so please come and visit (stand 7b)

Do you do the counts on the day? Baron is due one soon.

Thanks for replies everyone, sounds like I will be best staying somewhere the night before. Off to have a look at the places you have mentioned and see what I can find
