As the title says really - is the event inside or outside? I am presuming all the stalls will be inside but are the demos outside or are they undercover aswell?

Im getting all excited now

Everything is inside, apart from the car park

Where you get a free bus from the carpark to the area.

Some food is also outside.. And I recommend taking a 4x4 or leave early! Most years they have to tow people out of the car-parking!

It's in the cattle show halls (from when they have things like the Royal Show at Stonleigh). You won't get rained on (apart from when waiting in the queue for the gorgeous hot beef rolls they always have) but def take a fleece... Or buy another one there

Ah, but it was good to firm last year, and a few were being towed on the Saturday..

As it starts on Friday this year, there's a good chance it will be the same on Saturday :S

Thats great, I was just worried incase I got rained on and didnt take a waterproof. Does everyone tend to wear horsey clothing or just normal casual stuff like jeans and a top?

I always wear jeans and a top, have to say I think it is so sad when people go in jodphurs and chaps to these events, unless its for a purpose

I saw a girl arrive in the car next to us at HOYS in jods, chaps and boots.....its like a 'look at me I'm horsey and I ride!'

I will have a wooly hat, gloves, a scarf and gilet (for wearing under my jacket in the evening) in my bag. I'm guessing as always in horses, evening demos just invite hypothermia! If it wouldn't be a nuisence to carry, I'd also take a blanket for my legs - I hate being cold

Me and my friend don't think its sad, we think its hilarious! Whenever we go to Burleigh, we play 'spot the most unsuitably dressed people' - including those in jods and chaps for no other reason except to say ' I'm horsey' OF COURSE YOU ARE - that's why your here!!
*runs and hides too!*

I saw someone in full horsey gear last year, including spurs. I had to stop myself from laughing and pointing!!

I was completely FROZEN last year, although I found the best spot in the whole place is next to the Fal rugs stand just where the heater blasts its warmth. Perfect for me, warmth and my obsession with rugs can be satisfied! lol

I will be wearing jeans, jod boots underneath (not to look horsey, but they're comfortable, chunky and warm!!), jumper, gillet and gloves.........gloves to keep warm but also to protect my fingers from all the shopping bags cutting into them

I've been three years in a row on the Sunday and never had to be towed out - last two times were in a ford Puma and a Ford Focus, and still never got stuck. As am going in the Freelander this year, knowing my luck, will probably need towing!!

YHL is ok, it's far more embarrassing when you have to get your Discovery towed out of Badminton on XC day because your mother decided to welly it past the queues of small cars waiting to be towed, and got stuck in a bog! Then we couldn't find anywhere to attach ourselves to the tractor and had to call my dad...

*I do this sometimes.. but ONLY because I want to try boots on-I have skinny legs and need to make sure they're tight enough.
