I've worked at a few similar events - they joy of just being able to wander about an please yourself is hard to explain. Don't know if I can be bothered to go though, there's nothing I need and I only bought cheap food buckets last year!

I feel your pain. And it's always so cold...and you can never leave at the end for the queues and restrictions.

I'm giving it a miss this year....I've seen most of the demos before & I don't think the shopping is that great really, lots of stalls all selling the same things. The best Tack stall there is Townfields Saddlery & it's local to me so it's not worth me going.

I'm thinking of buying some of them waterproof jeans (the display with the hose pipes

) and if I buy a hoodie or coat I may bet my name embroidered in it. Not sure.

Townfields is 20mins away from where I live, they always have stuff of their stall that I want but isn't my size!!!

I will be going Friday def and probably one more day as well.

Not quite at good as when run by RASE as fewer breeds and fewer "technical" stuff. Many more stands though. Lots of rider clothing, and horse things, although perhaps not quite such a lot of new to the market stuff.

I remember the time when a jeweller friend wanted to have a stand and was turned down as it wasn't horsey enough! - Making horse themed jewellry!

Many people from around here, about 1 hour away by road, go 2 days. I to watch demos and 1 to shop and chat. Better that it is week later though as not firework night.

You mean Splash denim jods? I have some, they aren't waterproof tho!

I am not planning on going this year as I usually go to help out on a stand and as that stand is not going to be there then I will prob stay at home unless someone wants to drive me

I think they're the ones.
So if they're not waterproof, why do they do the hosepipe thing?? I'll have too have a closer look.

Oooh tell me about the Funnel display

I'm also going Friday and Saturday. After buying the tickets, my friends and me heard that the display is the same on both nights

Pippa and William Funnell are doing a display together, that's all I know lol.

I have to go on the Saturday as I need to buy my friend's birthday present there and Saturday is her birthday.

I think we saw something similar to the Funnell display at the Unex Masters last year.......was quite entertaining.

Look forward to the Carl Hester demo, and also William F-P.

Am driving up Sat afternoon, staying at a local hotel with a bunch of friends and planning on getting very merry Sat night. Then will trip along to the event on Sunday morning, no doubt with a filthy hangover, and stock up on greasy fried food from one of the stands!

No, the shopping isn't vastly different to Badminton or similar (better than Olympia though) but is a nice trip out, we normally have good fun and spend faaaar too much money.
