Dispite getting a bit fed up with yhl due to the traffic, crowds and parking etc I ve decided to go again this year as they have added another day so hopefully it will be less crowded.
anyway ive ordered tickets on line but they haven't arrived yet. Anyone else going and have their tickets yet?
 
Don't panic! My tickets haven't arrived yet either. They tend to send them about a week before the event. As someone who likes to be organised and have things to hand, this grates a tad, but what can we do?
 
I won’t go there again, after 2 terrible parking experiences , you park on grass, and if it’s been wet, it turns into a bog field, and returning to car in the dark, no lights at all, using phone torch to find car... no sorry not again..
 
Not bothering either this year. Each year it unfortunately has deotiorated, terrible traffic queues to get in and tbh it’s the same demo’s. Shopping full of rubbish.
Had it’s day imo. Must better when it was the Equine Event
 
That's made my mind up I was thinking of going but won't now! I did go when it was the equine event and it was good then.
 
We're not going either. So it sounds like it might well be less crowded OP! We went every year since the first - we live in the South so DD and I would make a weekend of it, go both days and stay overnight. We skipped in 2016 becuase theh price of the tickets was getting silly money. Missed it so much we went back in 2017. But we're not going to bother again. What really struck me - as well as totally silly price tickets! - was sitting in the hotel room on Saturday night ordering things from our shopping list off the internet becuase the versions at YHL were so over priced.
 
Planning to go this year as Maxima rugs have a great deal on and I need a big event to look at some specific equipment: larger browband, new headcollars, great deal last year better than ebay!), a heavier lunge rope, lunge cavessons, string girth... There's probably more on my list but I'm trying to look for deals where I can. Of course, the deal on the Maxima rugs which has now been confirmed is top of my list as the similar priced ones on ebay rip too easily. Also desperately needing a day out... I liked HOYS before but found the lighting in the arena gave me a splitting headache and it looked the same this year too in videos I saw online.

Not bought tickets yet but perhaps should order seeing this!
