Hi all,

I've just been offered someone's spare VIP ticket to YHL on Sunday!

I've never been before, and wondered what tips you might have to get the most from the day?

Is it mostly inside or outside? Does it get really muddy?

It is mostly inside (except for the catering!) but in huge barn like structures so it can be cold. I've never known the show arena muddy - but tractors are in use to get cars out if needed.

There is quite a distance from where you park to the show ground - a couple of the car parks use park & ride busses so plan for that. You might want to bring a small torch as once off the main areas there is no lighting to get back to your car. The catering area is horribly busy at lunch time so bring your own or plan to eat either early or late.

If you have a strict budget bring cash and not your credit card!

If you have VIP ticket you will be parking on main campus not the field area.. It's a brill day out, wear layers and if you want to do things like mechanical horse ect go book soon as u arrive, spaces go fast.. I watch the main displays like Carl and Charlotte and Ben Mayer ect in the morning then mooch about shopping ect. Enjoy.. We go each year..
