Not sure if this has been done yet; sorry if it has!

My goal for the New Year: for Elz and I to take part in a small show jumping competition (having prepared properly for it) and - most importantly - to ENJOY myself whilst doing it, with no pressure or nerves! I just want to have fun again, and am getting very itchy feet...

Anyone else got a goal for 2010?

To get Ted properly fit and do some local veteran showing/dressage classes

And pass my lorry license or I can drive to Holkham and go for a ride on the beach.

Too many to list!!!!!

But basically, get fit, have fun and kick on, no matter what life throws at us this year!!!!!!!!!!

Should it ever stop raining, being muddy and cold, first off is clean all my filthy tack, riding clothes, boots, etc and keep them regularly cleaned and supple all year through thereby injecting some order into my equine life so I can go and do all the things I should be doing on him a bit more (have another go at showing, bit more jumping, odd dressage test) without all the preparation feeling like a hassle.

I'm aiming to get back to riding properly after having my son and get out competing again. Would also like to get my hands on a carriage for the Shetland and get him driving.

I would like to affiliate my horse with British Dressage. We are currently competing unaffiliated at Novice and Discovery where we are regularly placed and I would love to have a go with the big boys (and gals)!!

I would also love to do the 3 day event at Milton Keynes again for the fourth time!

I would also like to give up eating! I have knocked smoking on the head, today is day 75! But I do need to lose 4 stone, although I would like to aim for two stone to start with.

Finally I would like to be able to have the confidence to jump a British Novice showjumping track just one last time on my boy at the equestrian centre where I ended up being stretchered off last time I jumped BSJA! It would be a form of closure. x

Oh applecart14 - I'm with you. I would like to compete at Working Hunter, last time I fell off in the WARM UP arena. Didn't even make it into the ring. Lose weight, get fit. Do some showing, dressage & jump in a competion the way I can jump at home. Oh and lots of Pleasure rides

mine are to lose weight (have that one every year so may as well keep it for consistency

) ride my mare more to get her and me fit and reluctantly cut out alcohol (got an electrical fault with my heart and alcohol is a big trigger!!)

I have quite a few
blush.gif

1) Manage to hack to my local arena
2) Have weekly/twice weekly lessons throughout January
3) Continue lessons and also book in for group training in Feb and March (flatwork in feb and jumping in march)
4) Take him to do walk trot tests and a couple of small clear rounds
5) Continue lessons and build our strength/fitness/confidence up and start competing in bigger classes and maybe take him to have a days XC schooling.
6) Pass my trailer test and look into buying a trailer then look into how to go about taking my HGV test.
7) Over the summer buy a project, compete it and actually sell it this time!
8) Possibly affiliate in BD.
9) Depending if we go XC, look into finding someone to take him hunting for me and for me to find a confidence giving ride to have my first stab at hunting on

10) Have fun and enjoy my lovely horses no matter what

Another one here who is going to lose some weight.
To become a more 'influential' rider over Star's way of going.
To become more confident and relaxed at jumping a small jump. That way I could do RC type

To move up to Novice dressage and possible affiliate with my boy and to take my cob to a couple of shows - hopefully she will be grown up enough this year!!
