Can you remember the first horse that you ever sat on or rode. I was thinking about this earlier and the first one i was sat on was were my sister worked and was an arab stallion called punch,i must have been about four at the time and it frightened the life out of me, it was wonderful and that was it pony MAD

I got plonked on a 3 yr old mare straight off the track that my 'step-grandmother' had bought when I was about the same age!

My first real ride was a little grey pony at the local riding school called Penny, she got me hooked and I hope I never forget her!

My first ride was on my auntie's shatland pony called Catty at the age of 3! I was hooked from then on! She was great although I did get a black eye when a sheep dog ran up to her and she reared and smacked me in the eye with her head! I had a black eye for my sister's wedding!

A grey mare called Galli. My mum was riding her at the local stables and I was plonked on her for a 'pony ride' when I was about two or three

I started riding lessons there when I was about four or five but don't remember riding any of the other ponies. When I graduated to hacks at about six I got to ride Galli again

The first horse I rode was called Rubey she was a 15.1 bay and was lovely I was about 7 or 8 my aunties horse and at the sat time I was riding a 16.1 but cannot remember what she was called.
thinking about it my auntie told me one day that her uncle made her give her away so I wouldnt see her again and I never thought untill now but maybe she died?

i did not start riding until my twenties a friend was having some lessons and i went along for a laugh, now twenty years later i own 3 of my own and still having a laugh.

I was 12 and had been nagging my non-horsey parents for riding lessons for years but they thought it was a passing phase (how little they knew)

and didn't get me them. Then we went on a caravan holiday like we did every year and they had just opened a riding school so my first ride was on a gorgeous black cob (that I convinced myself was a freisan but in hindsight probably wasn't)

I can't remember her name but I remember how I felt so unbalanced and turning was really scary, thought I was gonna slide off the side!

Totally hooked after that, started riding at a local riding school where I was taken across the moor on a really slow TB type called Ben. I remember my first canter and everything, brill memories

gosh mine was some 30+ years ago, I was about 9 or 10 it was on a small 12/13hh pony that belonged to a neighbour. He just sat me on and off I went around a huge park on my own. Don't remember if I even had a hat on. Of course I had no idea how to ride, had not even been near a pony before but apart from the saddle slipping once I stayed on happy as larry for most of the day

I was 10 and it was a little bay pony with a white face called Nutcracker, then I moved onto a little grey called Boomerang and then I reached the giddy heights of riding a black pony called Jet. They were all little superstars!

A cheeky little dapple grey welsh type at the local r/s . I loved him to bits , even when he bucked me off or took me over any jumps that had been left out in the school ! Sadly , I've no pics

He was called Harlequin & shared a large stable with Sonny & Crackers . I also loved Lady ( who was blind in one eye , Pip & Poppett . I was about 8 at the time .

Tell a lie - I have a pic of me ( wearing a plastic mac

) sitting on a grey pony on a beach somewhere . Made a change from donkeys . I was about 5 years old & the song from the TV series ' White Horses ' always makes me remember & smile as someone was playing it on their radio on the beach ( that dates me
