I moved my horse 2 months ago to a new place which is a private field (not a yard) I rent and I was wondering whether to continue the flu jab or not?
I do not like the idea of chemical -although until now I have always done the tetanus jab every other year which I will continue doing as it is a serious illness!- and the flu jab every year.
I only hack around where he is kept and don't compete so don't move him anywhere etc.
He is kept in a field by 2 other horses who never leave their field as they are kept as pets.
I am going to get him a companion who will be vaccinated for both tetanus and flu.

He is due for his flu jab mid April but I don't think it would be necessary anymore with our new "settings".
What would you do?

Thanks! :-)

For the sake of one jab a year, keep doing it if you can OP. I've seen a lot of horses with flu and it ain't pretty!
Even my old retired boy who doesn't leave the farm still gets his flu jab.
