As title - just want your opinions on the 3 in 1 type rugs that are available.

Are they value for money and cheaper than buying rugs separatey?

Thanks

Do you mean the turnout rugs?

Friend and I were at a tack shop. The lady did a very good sales job, I almost handed over my nearly £300. She said we could see two horses outside with the same rugs on. As Friend and I were both sceptical as to how the neck actually stays down and doesn't allow wind/rain up it we said we'd go see. Walked outside. Blowing wind and some rain. Both necks were turned up at the bottom of the neck piece. Saved my £300 and happily keep going with the 'normal' rugs

. Can mix and match all sorts to suit the ned and the requirements of the day/night.

Horses for courses though. I bet loads of people love them

I've got Duo's for both my horses. Personally I think they are fab and wouldn't hesitate to buy again, although one of them is already in it's 4th year of use so seem to last. One of the benefits is that you only have one New Zealand to clean each year, as the liners and neck piece go in a domestic machine. Horses are always snug and dry in them, and I also use the liners under stable rugs when it's very cold.

I have a Duo too and I love it

(although just got it back from the cleaners, put it on tonight and it has changed colour and is missing the liner I sent it to be washed with :mad )

Had the duo for about 10 days when it first came out & sent it back. Terrible - metal loops on neck rubbed badly, liners slipped and it was just an awful bulky fit in general compared to the usual horseware rugs. It was exchanged with no difficulty as it seemed there were plenty sent back when they first brought them out.

I used the Weatherbeeta Tristar for three horses last winter and it worked really well. When I had both rugs on they both stayed in place, the rug was still light enough to throw on a horse, and they were easy to put together and take apart. The hood stayed on as well and the fastenings didn't break.
