OH convinced me to buy my boy and if I merely mention moving him / selling him / sharing him / loaning him I get a right slap - she believes an animal is for life regardless of what happens. When I met her "do you like / have horses / want horses" was part of the interview process!!!

When my doctor told me due to my arthritis I ought to give up horses my then OH sat there with his head in his hands and said "Dear God, no!! Do you know how miserable she'll be to live with?!"

A boyfriend in the past asked me to choose and I was so disgusted that he thought I rated him that highly I just had to dump him. (Plus he was a boring git)!

When I got together with my Hubby I told him from the beginning that horses are part of who I am and he has accepted that. He likes them anyway, which helps.

It happened to me also....divorced because of it approx 6 years ago, new partner )(15 years younger than me bonus) adores horses and has his own! (well just sold it actually) but if someone makes you choose either obviously or subtly, then I'd be off!!

Of course you would choose the horse. Any man (or person) petty or insecure enough to make you choose is not worth a minute more of your time......
