Your secrets to keeping your grey's white instead of brown and green lol. Any tips welcome as im going crazy trying to keep my beast clean :o
He manages to get poo inside his rugs too so rugs are not an option lol

I use babywipes on mine, however one woman on are yard swears by wipes that you use to keep lace curtains clean and her geldings tail was always white as white can be :)

Also canter coat whitener is also very good :)

I feel your pain!!! My grey just loves mud, poo, grass etc! As soon as it rains then she is down rolling - she never rolls when it is dry!
I have had to learn to accept then when we are at home I really can't be washing her down all the time to get the marks off. She is a v itchy girl anyway so she has a bath every couple of weeks during the summer, with regular grooms between. She has sweet itch so is always turned out in a fly rug which helps. If she is too minging to ride out between baths, then a damp sponge gets the worst off. For her baths she has boots baby shampoo which I slosh on well diluted in a bucket of water and then brush her all over with a dandy brush before rinsing. Then a v light spritz of detangler over after. With that, grooming gets the worst off pretty well and keeps her soft and smooth which helps new stains get off easier. Her yellow tail is the trickiest bit, all the way up I just use the baby shampoo, for the end of it I disolve a couple of baby steraliser tabs into a bucket of soapy water and wash the ends with that and leave it on for a bit while I bath the rest of her.
In cooler weather it is easier to keep stable stains off. In warmer weather she is out 24/7, when she comes in of an evening it is only when it is cool enough for a rug - a lycra body suit is really useful as mine always gets poo stains all over her stomach and this helps with that alot! On the plus side, when she is clean she is soooo beautiful!
I hope you like lots of grooming!

for odd stains we have just bought some of that new carr and day martin stain master stuff - it is quite frankly, amazing!!!

We've got palomino's so have the tail problem and sometimes staining, I've found that its because the hair is dry that it soaks up the moisture in the dirt causing the staining. We use 2 things, mane 'n tail conditioner (its fabulous stuff that can be used on humans or horses and apparently Jennifer Aniston uses it? My husband is the biggest convert) anyway you can even put this conditioner on and leave it without rinsing off (ideal for an ansy one)

Secondly we use the fly away coat gloss, which also seems to see off the mud too, if we havent' used it for a bit we spray a couple of days before washing and then wash, it just all comes out.

Agree with iconique. I use Mane and Tail spray every time I groom and his mane especially keeps clean. I plait his tail in one loose plait when the ground is muddy. Show Shine spray on the coat also makes them more non-stick.

Another vote for conditioning the tail. I talked to my hairdresser, and she said that if I can close the cuticle of the hair with conditioner, then it will not soak up stains so easily. That's the theory anyway.
As to the rest of the horse, you just have to wash them if its a big stain. Cowboy Magic Green Stain Remover is fab stuff.
