Your Spaniels Please

My OH and I are looking at getting our own place before the end of the year and I can't have a home without a dog, so we are thinking of getting a Spaniel puppy.

I can't quite decide between a cocker and springer at the moment, and we are arguing over colours too lol, so I'd like to see some pics of your Spaniels please, as I know there are a fair few on here.

Purdey is our first spaniel. We chose a Springer because my OH wanted a gun-dog and I have always loved watching the springers work when we go on a shoot - they work so hard and tirelessly!

Unless you are prepared to do a LOT of exercise and training, I would steer clear of a Springer! As Nickijem has already said, they work hard and tirelessly, that goes for everything they do in life, a 20 minute stroll does not make the slightest impact on their energy. Any Spaniel is high energy, but a Springer is the max!

I have to agree with Hen though, a spaniels energy is endless, so be sure that you have the time for one.

How many animals can you fit in a crate?

He is lovely, he is my first dog althouh bf has had them before, found him easy to train, lots of energy when required but will sleep well when i am working at home.
