Please could you tell me if ( or not!) it worked for your horse? how long before you saw any improvement and what injuries/ mobility issues it helped with?
Many thanks x

I have an 18yo arthritic cob and have tried most joint spplements
The one that seems to work best is Feedmark's Best-Flex HA which contains all the usual things plus Boswellia
It's 50% off this Friday (16th)

My horse with navicular and hind suspensory desmitis is on it, since being on it he has been sound and comfortable, but also has had a huge overhaul on his general management and is on a regular joint supplement and devils claw too so can't say which part has helped the most.

Mine has hock arthritis and 90% boswelic acid didn't make any visible difference to him.
The best thing by far was Arthmid into the hock.

It didn’t really seem to do much for my old horse but he really disliked the taste and I’m not sure I ever managed to get him to eat enough to be a proper test really.
I do use it for our dog though and it’s been amazing. He used to get bit of a limp and it would be worse after a lot of exercise. He now has 1. Teaspoon a day sprinkled over his food and has been on it for about 2/3 months. I can honestly say he’s been completely sound, bar one day he lept into a big hay bale, missed and landed badly so I don’t count that!
It’s been really helpful for him.

Older (19 then) TB type mare, not overtly lame but looking less fluid, and hocks slightly 'soft', not the hard defined lines of her youth. No medically defined issues. Within 48 hours of starting on straight boswellia was floating in trot across the field better than she'd looked for several seasons, and beat her friend in the daily drag race ( ) for the first time in about 5 years. Came off for the spring/summer, been back on again since November. Less noticeable change this time, but then, she's a year older, and she's got a new field mate who acts older than she is...

I used it a big horse who developed side bone as a young horse. It did help him whilst it settled. I used it straight but it was dusty stuff, don't breathe in when you drop it in the bucket ! mixed with sugarbeet and he wolfed it down without an issue.

I have used it for my old 24yr old alongside 1 Bute for a few months now and my mctimoney and vet both say they see a big improvement

I've been using it alongside a joint supplement and some shoeing changes (road stud either side rather than one on the outside to reduce torsion) and it seems to have benefited him. I don't know how much is the boswellia and how much the other changes though, but it certainly seems to help.

Apparently not all boswellia products are equal. I haven't used it on a horse but Riaflex boswellia has done wonders for my JRT with hock arthritis, she went from crippled on 3 legs to running about in less than a week.

This was over a year ago now, no problems since. I have reduced the dose by half recently with no problems, no crunching in her hocks now.

I found it about as effective as one bute a day but without the side effects and safe for long term use. Gave my arthritic TB five happy years of retirement before it got too bad in her neck and the calcification impacted on her spinal cord.

Husband had a client with a 28yo cob and the difference it made to her was untrue. She went from being a total plod to p'ing off at every opportunity, luckily the rider liked the new lease of life! We also found it good for my old mare and used it in winter when she got a bit creaky. We lost her at 27 earlier this year to something unrelated to joints, she'd never needed any vet supplied pain relief and was still in light work to the day we lost her (we went for a trundle round on a nice day)

Used it for a 29 year old arthritic pony and it gave him a new lease of life. I tried a few other things but they didn't seem to help but the Boswellia made a big difference in a few days

It definitely makes a difference to my cob with hock arthritis. I recently switched from pure boswellia to the Red Horse joint support supplement and noticed an immediate change (in the bad way). Once she was back on pure boswellia, there was a noticeable improvement. I'm generally a big fan of Red Horse products, but in this case, mine does better on pure boswellia.

I have used Feedmark's Best-Flex and Feedmark's Acti-Vet (both contain boswellia) with several different horses and had good results. My mare is currently on Acti-Vet and much happier than she has been for a while.

I also take boswellia myself and find that I notice a difference if I don't take it.
