Ok, I found this add and in all honesty, before I saw the pictures, I thought this was a caring owner desperate to find a decent home for her horse.
Granted the wording on the add is a little unorthodox, but the author seemed carnig enough.
...Then I saw the Picture.
I'd love to know your thoughts on this horse. Am I being too sensitive or does this horse look extremely poor?

Did you watch the vid - lets trot it down the road on the end of a lead rope with cars coming in the other direction

No I don't have access to the vid's unfortunatley. Would've probably upset me even more.
I was only looking as someone posted earlier about the quality of horses on that particular website not being very high.
I absolutely agree. there are very few genuine adverts but plenty of badly written and frankly rather concerning ones such as this..... teaser pony

I really hope the coloured gets a loving home, god knows she looks like she needs one.

some weird people about these days!

it's pretty poor.

might look quite smart with a bit of covering on it..

not for 2.2 euro's though..

i'd give 400 quid for it!!

He is a bit poor, but I dont think he is helped by his poor conformation, straight shoulder/high wither/dipped back/upright back end, he trots quite stiff, and is diving for the grass, prob a 'teather' pony.... He also looks way older than 10....someone will buy him tho, horses like that always manage to get passed on.
Hes very clean isnt he!

Yolk up is when putting harness on & a teaser is usually used to see if a mare is receptive enough when in season to accept the stallion.

ahh I was worried you'd say that actually.

I am now adicted to reading these awful adverts, I really can't believe that these people are allowed near horses

Very sorry state of affairs if you ask me & i bet not one of these poor ponies has a passport!!! But then that is another matter completely........

I would think that its much older than 10 yrs old, I know its couloured but he has the tell tale grey flecking on his head.

That cob isnt THAT poor - sure he could look smashing with a good feed but hes not resue poor plus he has a good coat. Someone is obviously giveing him a good grooming as his tail is bruched and hes clean in very one of those photos.
Has no one ever trotted their horse in hand on a road? For real?? Ok so its not best practice to do so in a head collar - but I would certainly expect to see cars on a road - after all thats what they are made for!! Plus, hes on the right side of the road and the car is on the opposite side of the road. At least it shows hes bombproof in traffic.
Id have to agree with whoever said this cob looks older - he certainly has flecked hair on his face.
He is owned by the travellers and obviously in the city centre - im sure they dont have a passport but authorities arent near as strict on it here as in Britain. We can easily sell horses without passports - its not illegal (maybe under EU law?? but have never come across any prosecutions).
Id have to disagree about him having a poor upright shoulder - it is a little but not much - its his poor neck (as much a lack of muscle as lack of weight) that doesnt look great.
As for "yolk up" - its nothing to do with teasing - its putting a gig on. Fairly standard terminology I would think - surprised no one knew what it means.
I have to say im quite surprised and somewhat ashamed at the narrow-mindedness of people who have commented on this thread.

personally I have bought a 14hh pony from the travellers and she was in similar condition - slightly better but not a lot. Said pony turned inside out on 2 weeks good grass and feed, was safe as houses in traffic and very sweet and accepting when it came to backing. I sold her after a few weeks for a large mark up and had people queuing up to buy her as she was so genuine and bomb-proof. that guy looks like hed make a lovely hunter type to be honest - though Id only stretch to 500euro fr something in that condition.

What on earth is Yolk up?

Also, may be being Dim, but what is a teaser horse?

A teaser is usually used to see if there mare is in season an receptive to a stallion. Low quality

I did think he didnt look a hundred percent sound at first but my compter started buffering just as the horse approached the camer a so I didnt get the chance to see him trot through - but yes, possibly hes a bit off.

No one has confused the 2, so not sure why you think otherwise. Many people aren't familiar with driving terminolgy, hence why they've asked the question.

Sorry but I'm not "au fait" with driving terminology. I didn't realise it was a crime to ask what something meant. This being a forum and all.
