your thoughts please. how is her conformation?

hi. some of you may remember my previous posts about losing my mare who was 9 weeks from foaling :(

i am thinking about buying another in foal mare to give me something to focus on . she is by puzzles pick and mix out of a tb mare i believe. 16hh (ish) 8 years old. what do you think of her? thoughts on her conformation?

Rather lovely girl - not perfect but then who is! She looks a sweetie

Erm - daft question but what's a KWPN Scottish Sports Horse? (The stallion) and not sure about the rider's position but that's beside the point.

I'd definitely go and see her and you could end up with a very useful foal from that combination.

BTW it's conformation ;)

of course it is conformation oops lol.

like an irish sports horse but scottish :) graded and licensed kwpn. foal would be similar to what i would have got from my mare x
 
I love her! What a sweet girl! Do you mind me asking how much she is up for - PM if you prefer? I am in no position to buy so don't go worrying that I might steal her from under your nose, I am just interested.

I think she looks like a smasher!

she does look very sweet doesnt she? sounds like a really nice mare from chat with the owner.

she is £1500ono but home is more important than price x
 
working on a top warmblood stud im actually very fussy but I like both of these and have seen mfs visions photos on fb and love him. I agree I have seen better front legs on mare but I like the stallions. And for that price I would def have a look!
 
The front legs would not hit the spot for me, but all the other bits are very pleasing so it would be worth a close up inspection and maybe a dig around to find photos of sire/dam etc to try and take a look at their limbs. I have found her advert and the price is fair, also she comes from a stud so who knows what you might spot when you are there.

She is a little long in her front pasterns and doesn't have much room for a saddle but it would be interesting to see what she looks like now as the photos are 5 years old and I imagine she could look quite different fully mature.

Do you know why she has been put in foal and isn't ridden?

I'd go and have a look at her at that price.

she was injured as a yearling, reared and fell over trying to load. had physio as 3 year old and was sound so they just started backing her when their stallion (then yearling colt) got to her.
 
Photo's are deceptive, but to me she is heavy topped on little bone and very short in the back for a mare. Stallion choice would have to be carefully studied to try and remedy the problems.

I think the biggest fear using a big stallion would be to find the foal has taken the dams bone.
 
She's a nice mare, but long in the pastern bones in front and not great feet. She's short in the back, but i personally prefer them this way as they're is less 'to gather up'. Also the stalltion appears long lined so the foal may be more balance. He is a bit upright behind though in the pasterns but the mare may balance this in the foal. She has a nice shoulder, bit short in the neck but again that's just my preference. She's good and deep in front and a good engine behind. She is quite a square mare, leg in each corner but wouldn't mind more bone. She is evenly marked and I'd say she'll fade with age.
