Your worst BE event and why!!

Mine would have to be Holdenby 2004, only because the weather was crappy, it is miles away from home, and I fell off on the xc as the last to go, got back on went 2/3rds of the way round the xc to get stopped while the rebuilt a jump, despite telling them I had already fallen of they wouldnt let me continue and I had to restart over really steep 3 part coffin!

. No complaints about the course or ground and the people were lovely but just not happy memories. ETS OMG have just looked on BE website and it was 2002!!!

2002 pah you newcomer, I jumped round the 1st 'proper' eventing course built at Holdenby for the PC area trials in about 1976. I was the 4th to go and all 3 before me had crashing falls, one went off in an ambulance, I was clear on my 5o quid pony and was 2nd!!
 
Hee hee, I am afraid that the horse I jumped round is not even worth a fiver!! My mum loves her very much but she is an absolute cripple, she comes out of the stable like a polo pony and has done since she was 6! I did like the course but thought it was a bit more of a Hunter trial course than an One day event course. Beautiful country though, my mum and I were in complete awe and even went to see Teeton Mill in his stable!

Longleat, although I haven't been there for years. Horrible, rutted dressage warm up with sea lions barking in the background. Inconsistent going on the cross country. I shouldn't have gone cross country but didn't know any better at the time. My lovely 8 year old intermediate horse did a leg there and had to be retired from eventing. I'll never go there again.
 
Mine would be Aswanley in 2001. I think the event is fantastic but on that occasion it had been really wet. The river was about to burst and they put me and my sister right after each other. The dressage was running late and we were the last pre-novices to show jump. We had to canter over to the show jumping as they had already started to put the SJ down for the Intro. So we had 2 practice jumps and then had to jump. Then as we were walking back after the SJ there was a huge noise at the start of the XC. Thius turned out to be our friend whose horse reared up, went over backwards, oer the fence and smashing my friend's head on to the road. She was taken to hospital with serve head injuries and everyone was so worried about her. (She's fine know) As for the xc country I didn't kick on enough and got loads of time penalties but I still came 7th.
 
I would have to agree with Urchinwood, I went last year and it was pouring with rain all day, the dressage was in the middle of the XC and the SJ on a big slope, XC was uninspiring and unchallenging, wouldnt go again even though its fairly local to me.
 
Munstead. We got eliminated! Didn't suit Ollie who likes the big well built fences and think he found Munstead a bit twiggy.
