Your worst fear when riding?

I have to say, when i am ridng i dont have many fears, other than maybe loosing the horse!
But since the car accident in January and my Rambo being killed i am always on edge when leading a horse on the road, even if its calm day and the horse is sensible

. Also falling down a rabbit hole - had it happen once at full pelt and we were both really lucky to not be hurt (apart from my saddle lol)
 
When I'm riding? Have no fears. Before xc that for some reason my horse will fall over a fence on top of me. Or stop, he never stops so I don't know what I'd do!
In saying that, I have had him fall on me now once and I lived..
 
Being hit by a car - v nearly happened the other day! Terrifying.
Also having the horse fall on me - had a rearer go over on me before and since then i've been terrified of having a horse land on me.
 
Yeah, I also hate the thought of my horse galloping off into the distance! Ive had it happen about 3 times on hacks in the past - horse chucked me off and bolted flat out along the road. The pure panic I felt when that happened was just awful!
 
Oooh I've got loads! Horse coming over backwards on me, being hit by car and the worst one is this weird fear I have of falling off and landing on my head, breaking my neck and being paralysed from the neck down, Christopher Reeve stylee! God only knows where that one came from!
 
my fear would be if i were to fall off on a hack riding out on the common, and my mare to bolt off home alone and get hit by a car!!! heard that did happen a few months ago, and lucky that the girl had her mobile to phone for help. horse was o.k but the girl had to go to hospital for a few weeks. or to get trampled on or even kicked when you fall off, as horses can panic...

Have this irrational fear of one grabbing my horses legs. Used to love hacking out until this happened to my old mare a few years ago. Terrified now. Wish I could get over it.
 
Slipping on the road and getting squashed and hurt.

Horse going badly lame ages away from home, having to get him home is another one.

Me getting broken, as if I break a limb then cant do hairdressing for weeks and thats what pays for the horse"!!!
 
falling off on a hack, happened to me a few weeks ago and pony went galloping off down the lane. We had only been at the new yard for a few days and i didn't think she knew the way home.

I then went and got lost in the woods because i didn't know the area eeek but pony had found her way home and was happily munching on the grass outside the front gate!
 
Falling off and landing on a breeze block wall resulting in 4 smashed ribs and a punctured lung. Done it once never to be repeated.
 
The horse collapsing under me, saw it happen before to someone, horse had a massive heart attack on the hunting field in full gallop and died instantly. That's why I'm paranoid about my horses being at full fitness before going xc or hunting. Also my horses injuring themselves.
 
Horse being hit by a car/horse galloping off into road/horse galloping off and falling down cattle grid/me falling off not being able to move and horse running off. ALl mine revolve around the horse being hurt!!
 
Rding around a lot of hills etc I have a massive paranoia of Murphy slipping on the road, I also have a fear of faling off not for myself but for Murphy if he legs it. I have a big fear of cattlegrids after hearing some awful stories about loose horses and cattle-grids...
 
Falling off and my horse galloping off and taking himself home across the main road, or getting hit by a car, falling on the road or going into a cattle grid. I don't worry about what happens to me I just worry about my horses!
 
Horse slipping over on the roads, I get so paranoid about it. Most of my fears revolve around the roads, mainly because whenever I ride on one there's an accident or a near miss
