YuMove

I'm hearing a lot about how wonderful YuMove is as a joint supplement. Does anyone here have any experience with it?

I used it long ago and found no difference. I found Riaflex was in a different league, absolutely brilliant.

H was on YuMove for some time and it did make some difference. However, despite their "subscriber discount" and "offers", I found it very pricey!

I moved him on to Bettalife Pharmaquin powder, after posting a thread on here and it being recommended (both as a product and posters said get horsey stuff for better value). I think it's better than YuMove - H is certainly feeling very well and has done since being on it. I buy one of the small horse tubs (it's the same product) for c.£38 and it lasts months.

I wouldn't get YuMove again now, or recommend it - there are so many better options, it's just that YuMove have a good marketing team. H will continue to have equine joint supplements now as they are so much better value and I think, a purer product...?

My dog is on Yumove and I would rate it very highly.

However, I'm always on the lookout for new things so will try the old horse on the Pharmaquin and if it makes a difference to him will try it on the dog too!

Mine was on Joint Aid which I do really rate. For some reason I switched her to Yumove and wasn't as happy with it plus it was expensive. Went back to Joint Aid and gave the unused Yumove to my sister as she had run out. She wasn't impressed either and has now gone back to Joint Aid for her bitch. I won't be switching again.

Yes we use for our 15yr old terrier, it's not a miracle cure but it does help.
I think it's green lipped mussel
We also recently started him on their digestive supplement and strangely he is so much better at the stairs, even got up them totally on his own last week

Mine is on the young & active as well as the Yudigest. I'm not experienced or knowledgeable enough to tell if it makes a difference but others who know a lot more have said its good. She has two of each per day

I put Mrs Spaniel on it last year, she's 8 now but still very active with her agility, flyball and long walks, she is starting to stiffen up a little on cold mornings and I just wanted a little extra to help her out. Not sure if it's making any difference or if shes still not really in need of it but anything to help keep her happy!

Mine was on yumove and it made no difference but I then tried yumove advance which I had to get from the vet and that did make a big difference to my arthritic collie cross

One of ours was on Yumove (from the vet) but it did no good. However as his issues were caused by a missing front leg and all his weight being put on the remaining leg I think it was a flipping big ask, and still feel cross that I allowed the vets to con me into buying it. The only thing that helped our dog was the prescribed actual painkillers.

I have Juno on young and active as a precaution, so can't say if works or not. However I also have myself and Mr JB on iMove an it's made a difference to us!

Rudy is getting a bit sore again. It is occasional, usually after he over does it. right now I'm trying to keep him from overdoing. He's walking on my street on leash to see if that helps vs chasing the tennis ball off lead. He's on carprofen twice daily and will be for life now unless his liver or kidney values get wonky. Unfortunately the supplements that you all have had success with seem to not be sold in the US. I have emailed Betta Life to see if it is sold here.

My agility group is swearing by YuMove including the one vet on the group. It is pricey and money is very tight. Chewy.com has some joint supplements that are reasonable and I may try one of those.

I’d get a better product. Yumove are all about the marketing, not so much the active ingredients. Imo.

I have 2 on Yumove, but seeing so many recommendations on here for Riaflex I am looking at swapping. But not sure which oroduct to go for.....

2 JRTs aged 10.5.
1 has really bad shoulder arthritis, but sound thanks to monthly Librela jabs.
Other is fine so for her it is a preventative approach.
Both are fed kibble so a tablet is easier than a powder, bit I could find a solution if powder us best suggestion.

Not much good and vastly overpriced. Anything which is routinely sold as "40% off" or whatever, and has coupons available all the time, is obviously not worth the so called retail price, and I don't know how they get away with that sort of marketing tbh.

Riaflex is much better imo.

Noodle was on yumove but had no effect on her, I did keep her on it though as I thought maybe at her age she was actually getting worse but the yumove was keeping her the same if that makes sense, a clients dog was lame really visibly lame on his front leg, he went onto yumove and a month later he's a different dog, totally sound and bombing around like a loony so I guess it works for some, there do seem to be lots of alternatives now that are cheaper though so may well be worth looking around.

Yes I'm five weeks into the loading dose so poor little dog is having 4 tablets a day at the moment. I've got it on subscription and its cheaper £17 a month on a rolling basis - cancel any time.

She doesn't usually struggle with joint problems unless she has over exerted herself at her doggy friends house (partner works there twice a week) and she will then will spend her entire day racing with her friend across the fields or they will growl and chase each other in circles. Her friend is a big GS bitch, she is a little beagle.

Its lovely to see them have fun as its the only dog she actually gets on with as she is usually very anti social and timid/wary of other dogs.

But later that night when I get home, when she runs to greet me at the door or jumps of the chair, she will sometimes limp for a few strides which is why I decided to put her on them. She also struggles jumping in the car early in the morning on the way to the yard, but when we come back 30 mins later after running around the fields or menage she jumps in the car no problem, so its obviously stiff joints/arthritis of some sort.

For dogs with arthritis or older dogs I add a powdered Equine supplement. Same ingredients, cheaper price point. Currently usng Equine America Glucosamine and MSM

Riaflex has much better ingredients than Yumove. As Clodagh says above, they just have a huge marketing drive.
Old Nag, you need Joint Aid plus Green lipped mussel. I don’t currently have anyone needing their products at the moment as only have young dogs, I start precautionary treatment age 7. I believe the May now have GLM in the joint aid. Just peruse the website or email the support team, they are great. I am not sure about your librella dog, ask them.
Over the years my older dogs have been kept supple and active on Riaflex .
It is a powder but you can moisten your kibble , which is actually better for your dogs than dry, or add a tiny bit of wet food.

yes, i think it's very good. helped with my old gsd who was 14, (I'm on my 8th gsd!) she did improve mobility. currently using it for my 3 year old GSD bitch who has a 'clicky' elbow. took about a month before I noticed an improvement.

We have 2 JRT's also. One is 10, the other old chap is 14. Both on Riaflex - Green lipped mussel, Canine Joint Plus and their Boswellia , the old lad is also on the Devil's Alternative. The boswellia has been nothing short of miraculous for the 10 yr old who was crippled with arthritis in her hocks, she is now on a reduced dose, she has not had any meds or jabs from the vet for the arthritis or anything else, only the riaflex supplements. To see her you would not think that she has had problems with arthritis.

I haven't used Yumove , I saw that Riaflex was recommended on here so went for their products.

I have used Joint Aid - Joint and Muscle care for a long time now and find it excellent. It kept my bitch with hip dysplasia sound for years. My sister's 13yr old is on it too. I did try Yumove but wasn't impressed, my sister likewise. Her bitch definitely didn't do as well on Yumove and like mine is now back on Joint Aid. It is granules that I just add to kibble and even my fussy feeder eats it no problem.

would you use the green lipped mussel as a preventative in a young dog? I’ve got a 2yo lab with no current issues but I always wonder about putting him on something as a preventative

I've contacted Riaflex to see if it's available in the US. Right now old dog is on the loading dose and young dog is on maintenance of Cosequin. It seems to be helping. I've been in bed with a nasty URI so they haven't much exercise this week. But when we started hill work a few weeks ago it seemed to be helping.
