I wear long leather boots to ride and do general yard work etc.. over the years Ive had Mountain Horse Toggis, Harry Hall etc. I need a new pair as zip has gone on current pair of Toggi Calgarys. It went at creases in ankle which flex all the time. They had a fine tooth plastic zip.
I would really like to find similar style of boots which have chunky zip ( is this making sense??) as I think it would be more rugged. I don't have access to a great selection in local tack shops and its not the sort of infomation that is usually included on line...

So any ideas on everyday riding boots ( preferably brown!) with a chunky zip gratefully received...

BNC....I had, but I think that the other leg will probabaly go soon too and that makes it seem a bit uneconomic...

L&H ...- never tried non leather boots, but can see the appeal, especially at that price.. do they make you legs too hot and do you know what sort of zip they have?

my current toggi have very fine teeth in the zip, a bit like the zip you might get on a skirt... but I have had boots in the past, which have had much more rugged zip,, teeth larger like a barbour jacket or even a body protector... ( hard to describe!!)

I was told by the place that replaced the zips in my mountain horse sportives that the fine looking zips are actually more hardy despite appearences.

Apparently this is because the small teeth are more able to flex or something.......
