i have some lovely mountain horse boots, I only ever ride in them (as in, put them on in the stable after tacking up, then take them off before untacking) so they are very well looked after, but the zips keep sliding down whilst im riding! I have tried pulling the zip right to the top and then crossing the velcro fastening up and hooking the zipper over the top but to no avail. Short of getting new zips put in (an expensive option) i wondered if anyone had any ideas please???

A friend had exactly the same problem with her long boots, although tbh I can't recall if they were mountain horse or a different make. Anyway she contacted the manufacturers and they replaced them without any quibble. So I would contact MH (or the shop where you bought them) and they will either fix them or (most likely) replace them. It doesn't matter that you may have had them a while, there is a fault.

No its a mountain horse boot problem! A friend has the same problem but if send them back they are returned to Sweden so you will probably never see them again. Find a local cobbler who will sort the top out so zip stays up. I think we should all kick up a fuss though, its a design fault

Interesting read but I am on my 4th pair in 2yrs as I wear them from the minute I get up until 8pm when I finish on my yard and I have never had a problem with any of mine! The zips should have a tiny hook on them which is the lock, sometimes they wear off hence them slipping down. Some old fashioned cobblers can remove the zip pull and replace it with a new one.

Mine dont slip down either

Is it something to do with if they are, errr..... under a bit of pressure????? Not that i am suggesting anyone has anything other than stick insect legs

I have the mountain Horse Sportive High Riders and I have worn them for two year non stop in all weather and I have really abused them. I have done all the yard work and taught in them all day for two years and have not had a problem although I now have to retire them as they are full of holes

I have never had a problem with the zip and I have lets just say a chunky calf, think rugby player my calf muscle is so big!

They get the thumbs up for value for money from me!

I have had high riders for years and never had a zip problem. My Oh has has his pair about 2 years and the zip on one broke, he sent them back to Mountain Horse ( who do NOT return them to Sweden) they had them repaired and he received them back within two weeks. It was a superb service and costs £25. We were really impressed with the service and they were really helpful. Send them back, there is obviously a fault, speak to Horse Masters Distribution they are the importer of Mountain Horse in the Uk.

Can you loop some string through the zipper thingy and then thread the velcro thingy through the string?
Then it CAN'T fall down.
