So recently we have both had a confidence crisis following Zoom having a crash through a cross country jump at a HT. We have taken things really easy the last few weeks to just have some fun and get our confidence back.

We headed to Stratfield Saye sponsored ride yesterday....our last sponsored ride together :(

The jumps seemed to be either tiny (straw bales!!) or the upper limit of our capabilities. I was worried about wrecking our confidence so stuck to the straw bales and just enjoyed the lovely scenery. She was so well behaved and so I did a couple of the bigger ones.

We got to the photo jump and opted for the smaller one, which she jumped beautifully (if a little onward bound!! ;)):

Then as me and my friend were walking away......I thought 'b*llocks to it, I know she can do the biggy!'......so we did:

She was pretty strong and chipped in so I got a little left behind but managed to slip my reins for landing. Was hoping the photo would be a better one as it's our last ride but hey-ho.

Thanks for reading.

Don't know what I'm gonna do without her :(

Yayyy, well done you and Zoomy :)

What have you decided to do with her? :(

She is now definately going to France in September. She is doing pony club with a 13 year old girl who lives next door to my Parent's new place.

It will be so hard being away from her but Mum will see her every day and i get to go out there and ride her in the holidays.

There will probably be a mini-Zoom on the way in the next two years too ;) :D

Oooh a Mini-Zoom, exciting :D :D

It will be hard for you to leave her but I think you are doing the right thing :)

Brilliant photo! you're much braver than me!

Must have misssed your post - how come Zoom is away to France?

Thanks :D

I am going to Vet School in September so i won't be able to afford to keep Zoom (or have any time to look after her). I was ummming and ahhing about putting her on loan or something but Mum can't bear her going outside the family so she is moving with my parents.

Gonna miss her so much :(

Ah I see! Will you defo not have time? I know yours will be more full on but I kept my horse on throughout my degree? It can be done! Could you nag your mum for some help with money lol?

Otherwise it sounds like the soution you have come up with is a good one, bet Zoom would enjoy the nicer weather!!!!

Well done you :D

And at least she's not going away out of the family. She'll still be there for you hun. You're going to be so busy that you won't get much time to miss her.

Hugs and the hot choccy.

C.x

Unfortunately money will be too tight. I've already got one degree so Government won't fund me.....OH only earns a few quid and since my Dad had a stroke last year my parents have had to sell the house in London as they are skint :( There's always a drama with me ;)

Also, I'm doing accelerated veterinary so the work load will be heavy. I keep Zoom on grass DIY since that's the only way I can keep her and I just don't think I'll be able to give her the time she deserves. I'd sooner see her less often and her be pampered by my mum and her super-pony-loving 13yo rider :)

It's bloody hard though, she's definately my horse of a lifetime :(

yay for Zoom... that jump is quite large dear.. Zoom's deffo more like Zoom again :) good girlie :) Im goin to miss her too ;(

Excellent pictures :D

I guess that makes me the only 6' pony rider on HHO then :(

Big hug for Zoomy before she's off on her travels.

Don't worry Neil......I'm going to steal some rides on Tedster's boy Ted......and he's even smaller than Zoom!!! :D

Once you gone pony....you never go back!! :D

Oh what a happy/sad post!!! Well done on having such a fantastic last ride, but how sad as well! I had missed your earlier posts and did not know about recent developments. Congratulations on getting into vet school! It sounds like you are being very sensible and Zoom will be really well looked after and waiting for you to ride her during the holidays in sunny France - what could be better?!
