Zoom has been jumping xc for a year after a life of polo and jumped coloured poles for the first time last weekend when tedster from here very kindly let me use her jumps.
Zoom was very good so I decided in a moment of madness to take her to Chertsey show on Saturday
I never had ponies as a kid so this was actually my first ever show
I bathed her on Friday night (then watched her roll in the mud two seconds later
) and tried to get a few hours sleep. I was up at five am and down to do my first attempt of sewing plaits. I had no helper since mum is away so I was running late but eventually set off and met Tedster and the girls from her yard at the show.
We entered the tack and turnout class......I was very nervous and everyone seemed to be taking it so seriously. We were originally pulled in last (there were about twelve in the class
) but then ended up 5th in the final line-up for our first rosette
Here are pro-pics (shame the canter one is on her bad side
)

We nipped back to the lorry and changed into our jumping tack. I got back to the jumping ring and Tedster announced that she had got me a clear-round ticket eeeeeeek!
I have never actually jumped a whole course of jumps and neither has Zoom and she has only gone over a coloured pole once.............but she popped round like an absolute star. They were 2'-2'3 so not huge but I am sooooooooo proud. Cue me welling up as we collected our clear round rossette! We then did the 2'3 beginner's jumping and had two poles but one was very unlucky and the other was totally my fault. Massive pats for clever pony, what an honest girl she is!
I can't wait to do more jumping with her now.....I just need to sort my riding out and we'll be laughing!
Thanks to Tedster for letting us use her jumps and encouraging me to give it a go! No photos as the photographer didn't do the jumping ring
but here is Zoom with her rosettes and her numpty rider and then chilling ready to go home.
I LOVE ZOOMILICIOUS! Thanks for looking!!
Sunday's dressage report to follow!
