Odd question re Dog Poo and 'normal' size gardens!!

Does the bag not stink in the summer? I was thinking of doing this and having a designated poo bin as well as a normal rubbish bin - I am definitely thinking about finding the manhole though, seems the most hygienic option! Thanks for all your replies!

Odd question re Dog Poo and 'normal' size gardens!!

I wish mine would wait until when I walk them but I reckon they go about 2/3 times a day! I'm going to have to work out if the manhole is viable option once we move in!

Odd question re Dog Poo and 'normal' size gardens!!

This may make me sound naive - but what/where do you dispose of your dog poo? I have 2 large dogs, we currently live on a farm so I pick up their poo and chuck it on the muck heap, however we are moving shortly to a normal house with a normal garden and i'm just wondering - do people pick up...

Thoughts on PTS... Should I wait?

I had my mare pts last year and I don't think her problems were as bad as you have described. My biggest fear was finding her down in the morning and not being able to get her up and us feeling really distressed. I made what was the hardest decision I've ever ever made BUT I do not regret it for...

    Hypothetical towing question!

I doubt you could actually, not because of the license side of it but because the laden weight of the lorry would be exceeded with the trailer behind. Also you have to check the length of the outfit, I don't know what it is but you may possibly exceed the limit or I could be talking complete...

Deep rooted abscess - eroding the pedal bone

That's interesting Oberon, luckily we weren't hospitalised I managed it all at home, I stopped poulticing after a few days as I was told it wouldn't expel anyway, which it didn't at any point. I started to feed pink powder but I will look into the Vit E and herbs. Do you think the abscess and...

    Surprise from Dubarry!

I ordered some Dubarry boots back in February, which were delivered and been worn ever since, then today I received a parcel from them with a cleaner gift set!! I certainly didn't order it and didn't think the boots included the cleaner, so I guess they were just feeling generous! So...

Deep rooted abscess - eroding the pedal bone

I thought I'd give you an update on Joey. We have been very very lucky, he was on Metronidazole and Tramidaone (sorry about spelling) for a month in total. He went off his food quite quickly because of the Metronidazole so I had to up the dose and give it rectally for 2 weeks until he began to...

    Duke of Essex Polo Throphy

I went last year, there is a rich side and a poor side :) I took my kids with a picnic etc and had a lovely day out. The shows are entertaining before hand and the polo is good to walk. I know people that paid a lot of money to go in the rich side and really enjoyed themselves hob nobbing...

Deep rooted abscess - eroding the pedal bone

Thank you all so much for replying. I'm now more worried, he is only having antibiotics and if in 4 weeks there is still signs of infection (on an xray) then he will have to have surgery. I never really thought about where the 'dirt' that caused it would go. He is wearing a pink putty...

Vet prices - massive mark up

Well I rang them today and explained what I could buy them for, the receptionist was very good, she said straight away that they would not be able to have the drugs back (which I expected) but she would speak to the vet and see if she can get me a refund. Later on a lady in the accounts office...

Vet prices - massive mark up

Your right, they have to give you a prescription, they cannot refuse. But they can charge you for the privilege! My dog's one is £10 for the first and £6 for additional BUT they are repeated 3 times so still loads loads cheaper. I'll let you know the outcome tomorrow! Keep your fingers crossed...

Vet prices - massive mark up

I wondered this, although they are human pills so in sealed boxes and individual compartments (you know, like paracetamol boxes) so they could see they have been tampered with. I suppose I can only ask. I understand that vets have massive overheads and need to make money but this mark up is...

Deep rooted abscess - eroding the pedal bone

Has anyone had experience of this? Basically pony been intermittently lame for 4 weeks, had xrays today which has shown an abscess against the pedal bone. It has in simple term eaten the pedal bone. He is being treated with mega strong antibiotics for 4 weeks to kill the infection. If...
