Nothing wrong with Chinese Crested Puffs or hairless the puffs can be kept short to make it easier mine are the most out going little angels you could wish for and very entertaining you will find them full of fun . good luck
As a breeder of lurchers and whippets which i have had for 25 years i have to admit they prefer not to be solitary dogs , is there an option to get a friend for him perhaps a little girl he would turn some of his affection to her and not miss you so much. Males in particular are very devoted to...
Its not just about where you are going to keep him but how much of your life you are willing to give up .Things like going on holidays , socialising at weekends, day out shopping , all these have to be organised as well . H aving been sat in the car all day would you have time to spend with him...
More info would help ie are the children old enough to respect a dog and not treat it like a toy. Do you want a dog that has a coat to be groomed or a short haired breed i be a bit wary of terriers as they can be a bit sharp and nip. Choose a good breeder as you are sure a pup can be brought up...
A lot of cheaper foods dont have a high meat content try looking at the feeding rate the less you feed the less you have to pick up.I feed Oscars wheat/gluten free my dogs are show dogs as well and got a 1st and 2nd at Crufts so i feel i am doing something right . Only my opinion.
I agree with a lot of the comments from the last report i think its back to basics, start as if he was a puppy walking to heel and try distraction tactics good luck.
With a dog that size i suggest training classes and forget the harnes a trained dog is a happy dog . Sorry to sound blunt my friends whippet has just been attacked by a great dane that the owner had no control over and that was wearing a halti.
Some breeds like westies are prone to skin problems so i would feed a wheat/gluten free diet like oscars or similar.Lots of foods with colourants might appear apetising but are not good for dogs, you get what you pay for .
these collars are a lot wider than an average dog collar because whippets and greyhounds have quite long necks and they do not have a lot of bulk so it is more comfortable for them.
My hairless boy is very out going he is a show dog but will go off with any one he just loves people and always has to sit on their laps and likes to nibble the end of your nose. He is called Marquis and he is just like his mum who is a powderpuff who is also very friendly and out going they...
i to have cresteds and mine run on the moors all the time i have full coated ones as well as hairless they are great characters. Small breeds are only woosy dogs if you make them its great to see them having freedom like yours , best carol
i breed chinese cresteds and as i agree with feeding what the breeder says sometimes you have to change. i had a whippet that would not eat properly and i changed to purina salmon and she is a different dog with good weight, i was told not to give in to her and it is very hard watching them get...
a lot of breeders recommend giving antibiotics for 3to5 days prior to mating to kill off any infection and to prevent transmission to another bitch if the dog is used regularly at stud. most vets are happy to presribe for this reason.
there is nothing wrong with selling a puppy near xmas the problems arise when breeders dont take more care who they sell their puppies too, i always make people sign a contract to say they will not pass them on and that they have to come back to me if they can no longer keep them. also i put...
