    Scotland: ownership dispute

Also, joint ownership applies to goods in undivided bulk where persons A and B have paid X amount to get a share in the goods. It does not apply in this case.

    Scotland: ownership dispute

Part payment of debt is not good consideration. Payment is also generally a condition of the contract, breach of which gives you the right to terminate the contract. What I would do is send a recorded letter clearly staying what you want. Report the horse as stolen so that you have a leg to...

Good enough for a working pupil??

You have told your son that he is not good enough? Now that's a confidence boost. Everyone has to start somewhere and that's why it's called working PUPIL - you are trained and you will learn on the job.

    Yards/fields in leamington spa

My friend is thinking if bringing her horse to Leamington next year and is looking for somewhere to keep it. Preferably not too far, she doesn't have a car so access by bus would be good. The horse doesn't need much, a field with shelter would do. He lives out all year. It's a bit early...

    Finding the right sharers

I live in Leam too and was looking for a share horse about a month ago! Found one now though, had to go about 10 miles outside Leam because couldn't find anything nearer... From a sharer's point of view I would say that there's a lot of competent and good people out there looking for a share...

how do you give a sharer a rap on the knuckles?

I share a horse and pay a flat sum of £20 per week.Recently I was really ill and couldn't ride for a week. I debated whether to pay for that week or ask the owner if it was ok that I didn't pay but in the end I decided to just pay as normal because the horse still costs money that week even if I...

    Leading a very strong Shetland...!

My pony used to be a pain and still is when I take him out for a walk in the summer and we walk past green fields. He always tries to charge for a snack in the field. I have always had shetlands and I suppose I'm used to their little quirks... I've found that the best way to prevent being...

    Feeling pretty miffed off

I don't know how it works over here but at home my pony has insurance that covers him injuring a person/someone's property (i.e. kicking a car or kicking a person). I think most insurances should cover that. In any case it's the other person's animal that has caused the harm, it's not OP's...

    Feeling pretty miffed off

Surely you can claim your injury from her insurance? That's what I would do because it's obviously causing you a lot of hassle and loss of income and it was her/her horse's fault. The horse has to have insurance for this type of incidents.

Just had vet out....pony was having acute asthma

My ponio has a mild asthma and my previous pony had it too, in a bit more severe form. For both it was probably caused by badly ventilated stables and dusty hay. After the diagnosis my pony started to live outside 24/7 throughout the year, he's got a little stable with 3 walls for shelter but...

Ugh - what do they teach kids at riding schools these days!!!

This, especially the neck strap. Even if you can't lunge, maybe just lead reining her in walk and slow trot so that she could just focus on balance and hold on to the neck strap to stop her from falling off. IMO the best way to improve balance is to ride bareback or without stirrups in a...

    Thoughts on this video...

In the second video I was looking forward to the horse stepping on that annoying little dog that they let run around...

    Thoughts on this video...

Riders who keep kicking their horse constantly like the girl in the first part of the video really do my head in. Most horses will respond to a gentle squeeze if you teach them to do that, no need to be swinging your legs around just to keep it moving.

    Top tips for trot-canter transitions

When I learned this as a kid in riding school, I remember the instructor making us do sitting trot for ages to get it comfortable before even trying canter. There we were bouncing up and down on the poor horses but after a while I got the hang of it and managed to get a more relaxed, comfortable...
