I would say that if there wasn't a racing industry then there wouldn't be the amount of horses being bred to fill the hooves of the horses that are no longer "commercially viable". It is a vicious circle and it seems that the horses are the only one's who suffer.

This absolutely appals me, i absolutely abhor racing.
People are oblivious or simply don't care about the animals welfare - these horses are worked to within an inch of their lives from a young age and then when they are no longer and the term used is "commercially viable" they are tossed...

Have you tried horse share its a site with lots of horses for share on - otherwise try the usual horsemart and horsehunter

Never used them but check if there registered with the FSA and have a registration number - should be at the bottom of the quote schedule, then you'll know that they are registered with the regulator at least.
If you dont trust it and it seems too cheap look elsewhere, thats what i'd do anyways
