I think equimats have some rubber in as well as eva. This means they are flexible. You can get just eva for a good price on ebay. They are lighter than equimats but rigid.

Definitely due to the long spell of dry weather! My clean boy's bed has got very dry this past coupld of weeks so I've been using a watering can to damp it down. I add eucalyptus oil to the water as well to help repel flies and to help their breathing. Smells good too!
