yesterday was the first time the others had seen him do this as we normally bring up the rear on a hack but im too scared to get angry with him in case he retaliates.

    30 minute pony

I dont have a school - we are just in a field on our own but I have been on several yards with him and same happens - dead on 30 minutes - start tossing his head, scratching his leg, then a little squeal and buck or spin. can set your watch by him. saddle has been checked and its all good...

    30 minute pony

Im trying to get someone to take him out to see if he does it with a different rider as he may well be better behaved for someone who isnt scared of him! I also wonder if he just needs a big old gallop with a decent jockey but my confidence has just disappeared - 3 years in and Im feeling worse...

    Holistic and Semiflex Saddles

I had a Barry Swain saddle years ago that came with the horse..... best saddle ever for both horse and rider. Totally recommend but any adjustments have to be done by sending the saddle to Walsall nowadays

    30 minute pony

I am at my wits end with my cob. He is 9 years old and I have owned him for three years. We have been on a few different yards but this quirk rears its head every time..... He is your typical bombproof cob- well behaved, sensible, lives out can live in company or alone - the kind of cob...

    Sassy mare running for home

I have much the same problem with my cob - he is a saint of a horse most of the time and a very cool dude 90 percent of the time but I am a very nervy rider and even though we always do a few circular routes , and always in company, it gets to the halfway mark and the head goes down for a fake...

Tentatively mulling over trying western riding...

Ive never ridden western before but it looks so comfortable and relaxed when others are doing it so it got me thinking ..... as I am a generally useless rider and have a tendancy to fall out the side door at the slightest spook maybe I would have more chance of staying with my steed this way...

    BRIDLE ISSUES

I already have removed the noseband but it just doesnt look right without the brow band also - and its got plenty room in the browband - I think the comfort / padded ones just work against him and he maybe needs a fine, flat headpiece no wider that 1 cm wide and set back behind his ears - if...

    BRIDLE ISSUES

No, the browband is a good fit for him - its the lack of room behind his ears and any bridles I try all seem to push forward onto the back of his ears?

    BRIDLE ISSUES

I am having trouble finding a bridle to suit my cob .... every bridle I try on him seems to push forward onto the base of his ears and he seems to have very little space for a bridle .. I think this may be the reason that he starts to scratch his face after about 30 minutes of riding him (I...
