He was tied up properly, to string that broke x had it been an issue before I wouldn't have done so x and you would try to bridle a horse that was in pain? I left it so long to ensure no issue with soreness in his mouth x

    Bridling Advice

My new boy decided to go play whilst I was in the middle of tacking up. Long story short he pulled back from tie up and the string broke but not before he managed to get the bar of his fulmer under his lip. Its obviously hurt him as he is not wanting to have a bridle near him. This was almost...

I am suffering with new horse nerves, need physical help

I have owned horses for the last decade and in that time have taken on mainly sad and sorry, mistreated or problematic horses, I would class myself as a saver. I am a very happy hacker. I recently became the proud owner of a beautiful gelding, very kind natured, broken this year and I didn't...

Preparing for a youngster, colt and imported too.

Thank you so much for your comment and experience. That is so nice to hear. I do err on the side of caution and try to prepare myself for the worst scenario. The last thing I want to do is risk injuries. My gelding was a stallion to 7 so am sure he will put a little colt in his place if needbe.

I posted asking for advice taking on a young colt, not a fire breathing dragon. If you have imported from abroad and have experience of this then I would welcome your insight. As stated in my original post I have nine acres, separated into two paddocks. The grass is not lush as it is...

Preparing for a youngster, colt and imported too.

Thank you, Deseado x I just want to ensure a smooth transition and that my existing boy is safe and an hormonal colt, upset by travelling and upheavel will not do him damage. If you have any advice to give me that would be welcome. I do have good fencing, separated by single iron gates.

Preparing for a youngster, colt and imported too.

I have imported three horses from Spain, all gelded and they settled well. I have an opportunity to import a colt, 2.5 years, currently living with two other young stallions happily. I have nine acres of grazing, separated into two paddocks, well fenced and with natural shelter to the...

Would you vet 3 year old, potential happy hacker, under £1500?

He will be my forever horse but I am a horse owner and have been for some time. The difference is, I am choosing one for me as opposed to being found by those who were in need, when vetting was not a priority, giving a safe secure home was x
