I'm with OV on this. I think it's a fair question. I walked the GR one this year and would have been happy to tackle it on my horse, who has never even been placed at BE90 or BE100 - so we are rubbish in comparison to everyone who actually tackled it. I'm not saying we'd have jumped it clear...
I rarely have tests called because my OH refuses and there's not normally anyone else with me. On the odd occasion I have had tests called, I either haven't heard a word of it (in my own little world) or I've caught a bit of it, mis-heard it, got confused and then gone wrong :/
It is nice...
I use two - Baydale from on here who is eventing, and then a BE coach called Ann Bostock. Both excellent and sing from the same hymn sheet so it works really well.
The reason I don't SJ clear, I think, is that I don't practice enough. Getting the jumps out once or twice a week and putting...
Saturday I'm excited about going to a dressage to music clinic at Turvey, with Equivisions.
Sunday I suppose I'd best go to Glebe and show Bill some SJ before our first ODE of the year at Bury Farm in 2 weeks - he hasn't seen an SJ course since last August!
Then packing and cleaning...
I think I had a better one at our dressage outing at ALW a few weeks ago:
"Mostly straight but curious" ..... ;p
I got a fit of giggles!!! When I watched the video I realised what the judge meant - our centre line was quite good but Bill wiggling his head around to eye up the jumps in...
I think it was the commentator who said people weren't prepared for the XC, not anyone on here! I don't think ANYONE in here agreed with that (in a critical way) or said anything that would have made you feel worse! It's been such a positive post. Everyone's been saying "how could people prepare...
I don't think Caroline is teaching any more - I had a lesson with her 18 months ago and tried to go back 6 months ago but got no response whatsoever. The lesson I had was great, did piaffe :D Really concentrated on my position and getting me straight on the lunge. No mean feat as I'm as wonky as...
Wow yes I bet you did!
I think the term grassroots can be confusing to people - BRC Grassroots competitions are at something like 70cm, and I think people who don't know much about the qualifications for Badminton Grassroots might be surprised to learn how competitive it is just to get...
I haven't seen anyone on here being a moaner or an armchair rider! And no one whatsoever has been a green-eyed monster! Did you read this thread? Everyone has been really congratulatory?!
Strange!
But well done on getting there in 2010. I can't even imagine getting there, let alone...
Urgh what a shame! Really sorry, after you've done such a good job, too.
As per the people above, Bury Farm is excellent, one of my fave places. Done BD, UA ODE, JAS and UA SJ there are can't fault the place (except for them dismantling the temporary stables next to the outdoor warmup, whilst...
I have a Passier Corona dressage saddle (which I love) and an Equipe Expression jump saddle (which I love even more, possibly only because it's a more recent purchase though!) and sat in the Equipe dressage equivalent to my jump saddle a few weeks ago, and it didn't feel much different to my...
You could nearly be describing a mare I know for sale but who has 58FPs and is very slightly bigger.
I think her price is around £4,500 or thereabouts.
Perhaps not as "easy in every way" as the one you're looking at.
Sorry! I was flapping a bit - I'd been trying to spot your horse's bridle number for about 2 mins to see whether they were running to time or not, before I realised it was you - had I looked at the rider first instead of the horse I wouldn't have been lurking about like a total plum! Felt a bit...
