There is a girl at our yard who has given Piriton tablets to her horse....IMO they made no difference. The amount of dosage you would need to administer for the them to be affective on something the size of a horse (which they are not tested for) would be extortionate as an on going treatment...
My lad has had something similar, as well as a couple of other horses on the yard. I had the vet out who prescribed anthisthamines but equally said it would clear in 48hrs. They could not say what the reaction was too, just a general allergy but his glands were also up but he was completely OK...
I wear mine for a couple of days but I only have them on for about 2 hrs at a time. I don't see them as any different from any other item of clothing and I tend to wash most things after each wear.
I had the same this morning although not to the extent of yours.
Took his rug off and covered in lumps/rash over his body and his hind leg was slightly puffy.

It is one of those things I just have to crack on with...I do tend to hack the lanes on Sundays only (we are blessed with 8 miles...
I did...and although 3 years on we are still inseperable...I would NOT do it again.
He is not quite what I thought I was getting...has taught me a lot though and neither of us has been permenantly injured....
ETA: did not read it was one of JM's....yup would buy from JM unseen...especially...

This is the thing - you can't use it with treats as they won't go through the holes but I have found that the spillers high fibre cubes are chocolate to horses and have yet to find one who can resist them! You can safely fill the ball as there is little or nothing in these nuts...
ATM I am bringing my lad back into schooling after injury...
Prior to injury he was being hacked 4 or 5 days a week including a bit of jumping over solid fences as and when and Schooled twice a week, one flat work lesson and one session of us poorly attempting to recreate said lesson.....
