Do I buy a warmblood or not?

I have a Dutch warmblood (imported) who have I owned for 12 1/2 years and he has been healthy 99% of the time. I also have a 4 year old British bred Hanoverian who is lovely, I have only had him since the summer and he passed the vet although I didnt have him x-rayed as the vet had no doubt...

    Advice needed on horses skin!

My horse is half clipped and where he is not clipped he has bald patches appearing around his flank (where the hair changes direction). The skin is perfectly pink and healthy and he isnt itchy. I called my vet on Monday and they have suggested wiping the skin with hibiscrub and putting...

    Removal of a mares ovaries

My friend recently purchased a mare, who three months later turned out to be in foal. Unfortunately the mare lost the foal, as it was unknown she didnt have any proper care or scans. The vet has said that the mare is unsuitable for foaling and my friend should consider having the mares ovaries...

    Removal of a mares ovaries

Unfortunately my friends mare lost a foal. The foal was unexpected and therefore the mare didnt have the proper scans and care. The vet has advised my friend that the mare "is unsuitable for foaling" and has suggested removing her ovaries with standing keyhole surgery. This is something I havent...

No Horse & Hound Magazine again

Mine was late both last week and this. I live in the Cambridgeshire area but I am aware we have some postal strikes in this area but I have received other post.

    Good saddler in Cambridgeshire area

I'm tempted to wait until September (it is only a few weeks away) as the youngster is beginning to look like he may start muscling up. I have a prolite pad under his saddle at the mo and he appears to be happy.

    Good saddler in Cambridgeshire area

I will give Bridelpath a call. Scribble, I normally use Mark Fisher but he cant fit me in until September and my new youngster needs seeing before then.

    Good saddler in Cambridgeshire area

I used to use Bridlepath but know someone who didnt get on with so well when they came to fit a dressage saddle and both of my horses are ridden in dressage saddles so I am a little reluctant to use them.

Can I please introduce you to my new horse.....?

I am feeling a little guilty having just purchase a youngster to start working with for when my 19 year old gelding decides he has had enough. My older boy is still out competing and enjoying life but I know that wont continue forever. I am trying to ensure he is still number one but the...

    Good saddler in Cambridgeshire area

Having just purchased a youngster I am keen to get his saddle checked. When I got on him last Sunday I felt like I was sitting on his ears and he bucked, clearly not happy. As soon as I put my Prolite pad on he was happy and I felt much better. I did call my usual saddler (Mark Fisher) to come...

Can You Eat Before You Compete?

I can eat before I go competing. Mum usually cooks a full breakfast before we go. However, I dont then eat until I have finished competing.

Horse sold before got a chance to ride it again - self indulgent post

I'd say that it wasnt meant to be. If if was the right horse for you then it would still have been there when you went back this morning. I have just purchased a 4 year old after a long time looking and he wasnt even advertised, I found him through a friend of the owner when I rang up about...

    viewing help!

I make sure I go and see the potential horses twice to make sure they are the same as I remember them being. I arrange to have them vetted after the second time of seeing them. Even if I liked the first horse I saw I would go and see at least one more so you had a comparison. Happy horse hunting!
