Collateral Ligament Injury, Alternatives to Rockley Farm?

Success! We stayed out all of yesterday and went into the pen again last night where we stayed in our stable throughout the very nasty storm and he’s gone out on the makeshift Moose run again this morning looking reasonably cheerful in his new fly rug and several applications of Phaser spray and...

Collateral Ligament Injury, Alternatives to Rockley Farm?

It’s like he’s trying to make it hard sometimes! Yet he’s the most amazing horse ever to handle and ride, could easily put your granny or a baby on him safely.

Collateral Ligament Injury, Alternatives to Rockley Farm?

I will admit to being really upset when I saw Nic‘s message. Her exact words were ”we are not taking any new horses at the mo so I am afraid sending him here is not an option.” I don’t know what that means long term but it was pretty clear he can’t go there ?

Collateral Ligament Injury, Alternatives to Rockley Farm?

Thats a good idea, thank you. I have another new fly rugs arriving today! I have been thinking about this. We do have an elderly Shetland here but Moose still thinks he is a stallion and is decidedly aggressive with other horses that I have anything to do with. Our Shetland is a dear old...

Collateral Ligament Injury, Alternatives to Rockley Farm?

Mine is live, but I think he’s going to push through it soon he’s so angry! He’s so big I think it would take quite a bit and I’m not sure it’s fair to do that long term, if it were a few days then maybe but I think I’d need two tubes a time. He’s 830kgs. I tried this based on the idea that...

Collateral Ligament Injury, Alternatives to Rockley Farm?

Thanks all, I messaged Nic and she’s advised that they aren’t taking any new horses and the log seems to have stopped in November last year. I’m gutted as had really thought it was an option. He’s already barefoot and the vet who did the MRI was very impressed with his hoof conformation but he’s...

Collateral Ligament Injury, Alternatives to Rockley Farm?

Hey, So my ginger giant horse has partially torn his collateral ligament away from the coffin joint and managed to take a bit of bone with it. He’s obviously pretty lame and after the MRI the vets have advised he’s unlikely to come sound again. That said a previous horse went to Rockley...

Thank you! Can’t tell you how delighted I am, not to mention impatient to meet baby after a Silver Wind Twister baby won the breed show foal class on Saturday! Roll on next summer! ?

    2023 Foals

We have a blob! Had to pinch one as there were two but vet back tomorrow to check again. Next scan after that will be the heartbeat one. I’m praying hard now!

    2023 Foals

Why, oh why, does it feel like my blob scan is taking forever to come around? Anyone? Also, does anyone know if constantly saying to your mare, 'think blue baby' helps in any way? I guess I'll find out :D Don't want much do I? :D

All good so far. Scanned thus morning and the two follicles that were at just over 3cm did ovulate so scanning again 2 weeks today for a blob. No fluid to worry about either so fingers crossed for a Silver Wind Twister baby please!

Yes, definitely oxytocin get rid of the fluid. There was much less yesterday so it seems to have worked. They didn’t say what was causing it. Couldn’t get vet out to me today so no scan before AI this morning but they’re back first thing tomorrow to check her and we can get another dose if...
