Thanks for further input! Lots to think about. I can't ride instead of going to the gym as the horses are at livery outside of london and I physically can't get there during the week when I have to work. keeping fit so that I am able to ride without going too red in the face is the best I can...
Thank you - it's nice to have some reassurance that it's not a completely ridiculous idea.
Sorry, I should have been clearer - I have done some unaff eventing about 5-6 years ago but nothing over 90cm. I know that it is going to be my jumping that I really need to work on whenever I do get a...
...is it possible and does anybody do this? Situation is:
A. very experienced horse on full comp livery exercised three times during the week; and
B. less experienced but not entirely incompetent rider with too many work pressures to ride during the week (and living and working in...
Don't apologise, it has been really interesting to get some insight from someone so totally unconnected from him. Everyone who knows him either falls for his cheeky personality good looks and fabulous trot or thinks he is the devil incarnate (and I am undeniably in the former category) so an...
No, tarrstepps you make a good point. In the cold light of day it does seem ridiculous to talk of the wonderful 'potential' that a physically and behaviourally challenged pony has. I guess I was trying to remain optimistic, but I just ended up sounding like those 'potential superstar for sale'...
Thanks for the replies. I wasn't actually suggesting selling him, I'm very aware that is not an option and may never be. If all else fails he will stay as a companion to my others, it just seems such a waste of a potentially nice young pony who likes to be busy.
He has had the vet within the...
Haven't been to a competition in over a year but need a bit of a pick me up and I'm cut off from all my understanding horsey friends! Long story short...(or at least I will try!)
Took a gap year, bought a 14hh m&m to bring on and sell in said gap year. Pony was unflappable when...
Any recommendations for riders in Derbyshire/Staffordshire who would come out to school and jump a 14hh pony? Pony is young and can be quite tricky and opinionated so I would rather pay someone who knows what they are doing than go through the stress of trying to find someone to share/ride on a...

I'm sat waiting for the vet to come now. Totally gutted as only had this horse five stage vetted just under 8 weeks ago :(
Nothing is ever straightforward with horses is it!
Does anyone know how quickly sarcoids develop? For example, could a horse go from being sarcoid free to having atleast 4 sarcoids, 2 of which are fairly large, in the space of 8 weeks?
