I pictured my ideal horse as a 16.2hh chestnut ISH gelding, with 4 socks and a star.
Ended up with a 14.2hh piebald cob mare :D So I got the 'Irish' bit I suppose  :p
Love her to bits though. She is absolutely perfect :)
Schooled my little cob mare and she tried so hard, despite being naturally downhill and not the bendiest of ponies. She's so merry and willing, she was really swinging along in her trot work, no rushing or leaning, just lovely and soft and round, really powering through from her hindquarters...
I wear tweed and a coloured stock for everything (dr, sj, ode), except showing, when a shirt and tie is correct :)
For hunting after opening meet I wear a navy wool show jacket with cream stock, as I don't go often enough to warrant buying a hunt coat!
Ratcatcher is never incorrect - tweed...
I bought my lad at 21 months (he's just turned 4! Where does the time go?!). He was a scraggy colt, for sale for next to nothing, but he had a kind eye and moved straight so I took a punt! Best chance I ever took, that boy - he's amazing! :)
It's so sad that some people can't do their oldies a final kindness and PTS at home, instead of passing them on to an unknown future. It wouldn't even cost a significant amount of money (the hunt pts and take them away for next to nothing here) but it means the earth to ensure your old friend...
I use a fly mask with attached nose net, and Naf sunblock on the sides of her nose :) the Naf stuff is fantastic, very thick, better than Sudocrem IMO, it stays on for a good couple of days!
My piglet of a cob mare seems to see electric fencing as a challenge, even if there is less grass on the other side! I once found her 'trapped' in the patch I had fenced off to stop her from itching her tail on some post and rail that was a bit rickety and was ready for replacing. Said 'patch'...
