Micronised linseed meal or something else?

I’ve never had my horse go silly on micronised linseed. And I’ve had several horses. But my horse is not working as much, nor is he out for as long as he would like to be. He’s fresh!

    Cost of raw feeding

I spend about 50p per dog a day. But I buy from my butcher. They get in chicken carcasses, and chicken necks and they sell pet mince which is meat and offal. I can get as many bones as I want from them for a small donation to charity. I’m lucky as my dogs don’t have any allergies. I don’t weigh...

Help, am I in the wrong?

With an ex racehorse you need to take it slowly ….. never ever turn around on yourself. So always a circular route, and on grass walk until you know he is chilled with being ridden on grass and coming back to you. Your snaffle isn’t the issue, i ride my ex racer in a snaffle, it’s the attitude...

Relocating to Exeter - Livery needed!

Loads of livery yards in all areas! So the easiest way to do it would be to look at where your husband is working and find somewhere to live on that side, then find a livery yard near by. There are loads of yards and some superb riding, beaches, moorland and bridlepaths.

    Hogging help

Get cordless clippers, mine are liveryman, and they make a huge difference . When I got my horse he’d just broken someone cheek while being clipped with standard clippers. I clipped him with my cordless clippers and he was absolutely fine. The more times you do it, the easier it should get. At...

How would you smarten this mane?

Plait it and leave plaits in to get it all on the one side, then after a few days undo and comb through, then mane rake it on the underside. I have a horse with a huge thick mane, who Hates it being pulled. So I mane rake and I scissor cut but upwards, never across or it’s too straight.
