Our first 7.5t wasn’t a tilt cab, wasn’t much of a problem at first, I bit more expensive to service because of extra labour etc, but no big deal . . . until it started to have little niggles.
The problems were really small and would have been easy fixes with access but with a non tilt it became...
Totally dependent on area, I’m paying £100 a month for similar. Excludes water and electric and it’s a little rundown but I have free rein to do as I please
I sometimes show my shetland stallion in a stallion harness, he’s an adult not a colt. He goes much better in one, stays straight and lengthens his neck and stride into the contact.
Judges seem to like it, never been asked to remove the side reins. I did have a fellow competitor complain once...
I have a colt and filly living together as well at the moment.
There’s no definitive time, colts mature at different rates. Mine is no way coltish and exhibits no behaviour that would concern me, and I have several stallions so am use to entires.
I’ve normally split by June time previously
I have one that I nose twitch for vaccinations, I just use my fingers so it’s not tight and for less than a minute. Keeps him calm and he has no negative reaction afterwards so I have no concerns with it
As above, we bought another set of brackets and fitted them as low as possible, limited by the centre partition depth. This is fine for standard Shetlands
It’s still too high for minis so with them we put the bar as high as possible to keep trailer integrity and cross tie them further back
What didn’t you like about working on the yard and which bits did you enjoy (if any😀)?
If your lacking patience then teaching might not be for you, but what something like course builder/designer or working with a company associated with the industry like a feed company.
I’d be looking...
Personally I don’t bother with ribbons and it’s not something you often see in showing. I don’t plan on being close enough to the back legs of a horse/pony for it to make a difference.
I mainly show colts and stallions, you quite quickly realise that many have no clue whatsoever as to...
There’s no guarantee either way, and without seeing the scar it’s difficult to say. In mini’s it’s probably going to get marked down more because of the type and style
I’d suggest you go out and have fun and see what the judge has to say
